Squatting

I can't say anything for sure, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but let's be honest about a few things:

1. KK doesn't compete much anymore.
2. When he does, he competes at 308.
3. KK, while a great lifter, is far from 2303. When I said "the world record," I meant the total.

It's just harder at these heavier weight-classes to be at the top drug-free because the amount of lean body mass required is, um, above reasonable natural limitations. A single-lift record is a little different, because freakish leverages and a willingness to disregard the other lifts for a deadlift specialist will more than make up the difference from being drug-free.

And the same goes for Mike T. He's a great lifter, but he's hundreds of pounds away from the WR total in his weight class. AAS can be the difference between having a 2000-lb. total at 275 and a 2300-lb. total.

If a lifter were drug free and had world class lifts, would they not most likely be competing in the IPF and its affiliations sans wraps? So wouldn't it be much more fair to compare them to Stan's 2226 unwrapped total than his wrapped?

Also, mike has hit 2110 in a meet a little under two years ago, along with atleast two 2100s in his gym. So IMO he's not too far behind.

InB4 idiotic discussion on drug use/tested vs. non tested/beating tests, etc.

Hey I'm in support of the all-drug olympics. I love walking science experiments. They do the neatest things.

Oh, you were talking about Stan Efferding. Ok, but that was at an untested meet.

PLWatch still has KK with the records for both 275 and 308 for a tested meet:
http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/records/raw/world

It's not fair to expect a clean lifter to beat the untested meet record, at a tested meet. But for a while, KK did have a record total at a tested meet, that was also higher than the previous untested meet record. Which I think is why people tend to believe he was using, and he simply beat the test.

Just because you compete and/or win in a tested meet does not mean that you were tested.

Going to need samples before comment.

Don't want any unfair advantages itt.

See: Jesse Norris.

Doesn't this depend of the Fed? I thought some (IPF maybe?) tested all winners.

Lol no.

They don`t test all winners, of all classes (as that would be alot of people) but they do test alot, and they to suspend and take their medals that they did before the test, even thou they test positive.

As an example, the whole nation of Khazakstan is banned for 2 years since they busted 9 compeditors in 2 comps from that nation.

All suspensions, results, bans etc are available on their homepage i think back to the late 80`s.

Edit: http://www.powerlifting-ipf.com/49.html

Also its worth mentioning that as a member for IPF you are subject to testing in international competitions, but also the sub-divisions of IPF (the national federations) test all the way down to first timers on the smallest comps. Atleast in Norway a national 3rd party anti-doping agency is doing testing, and by getting a license you submit yourself to always beeing subject to testing. Refusal is ruled as a positive result and you are banned.

Can`t complain, working hard after a somewhat dissappointing Nationals. Got a 1410lbs total at 194lbs BW. Went inn a bit to light, and missed my first squat due to the monitor in the warmup room froze so when they called that my time was up my team protested but and i got a second chance but by then my calves were blue from the wraps so i passed. Anyhow, im aiming at 1480-1500lbs @ 202lbs in december.

I think this fits in well in here as to what the topic has been:

My roflcopter goes soi soi soi

On another note, I have noticed the most (although meagre) improvements in my squatting an benching since I started worrying about things less and just started focusing on actually doing the lifting more.
