My workout was cut short earlier today before I could complete it due to a semi-emergency which was out of my control, was about 60-70% through it I'd say.

If time allows, is it wise to pick up where I left off earlier? Or would this somehow be detrimental?

Today is my push day which includes SOHP, BP, and a few assistance lifts. Basically all I have is the assistance lifts left over as I completed the SOHP and the bench sets this morning.

i dont think there's anything wrong with picking up where you left off.. just make sure you stretch/warm up enough..

I always just scrap the workout and hit it next week.

If you look at elite level athletes, many do split routines, where they do half in the morning, half in the afternoon.

I would often do half of my workout in the morning then half in the early evening due to work constraints

I did the same today. I was supposed to run 10 miles today but I got bad Shin splints so I decided to split it 5 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. Cardio and weight lifting should be done in the morning to speed up the metablism all day. If you know your going to cut it in halve, do cardio first and weights in the afternoon, before you eat afternoon lunch. that way your maxing what you can do for your body.

Yeah I'd write it off too. If you're just down to the assistance exercises then you've covered off on the "big boys" of the program already. You've done the meaty part of the workout, just skip the assistance stuff this time round.

Nothing wrong with spliting it up. Sounds like you want to do it anyway, get in there and give'er. Any reason not to? For example....that emergency? If your everyday life has been taken care of, no reason not to.

So now it's evenly split, some people so go, some no. You sound like you want to, no real reason why not so far as the information you've given tells.

Ended up going ahead with it, felt alright, but I don't think I'd make a habit of it. I always lift in the morning so I haven't seen my gym around 5-6.....place is small but shit was it crowded! Never going when people are getting out of work again.

Thanks for the advice all.
