sparring gear

    i'm looking for some mma sparring gear (basically just gloves and mask set) anyone know where i can get some cheap (they don't have to be real high quality its just for my friend and i to do some training on the side)

    Ill second combat sports, Joe is having some crazy sales right now so you can get what you want cheaply and with quality.

    Masks are great if you are prepping for a fight and do not want to risk a cut, or just don't want to end up with a deformed face from training :)

    I don't understand i imagine a mask to be like what that weird mexican guy in pride wears he looks like a clown :p
    If you mean headgear with cheekbone protectors by all means get that, but if your talking about sparring head gear with the grills over the front of your face i think it's a little weird because you won't be used to the impact of the punch actually on your face?
    I hope this makes sense.

    No, masks suck. I've fought with two masks and both jutted into my chin so badly that I developed a severe rawness on the inside of my lower lip that stung every time I ate or swallowed for three days.

    Masks suck.

    Just get the Fightgear full face headgear. That's what I own, and it's the best I've ever used.

    Not that I've been around long.
