How did you score it?

I thought Spann won Rounds 2 and 3, but maybe I missed something. Wondering what the general consensus is.

Why would anybody think Spann won the third when he was just getting kicked and was looking at Smith, who was afraid to throw punches himself, was weird and then was genuinely surprised he lost the fight, like looking at your opponent wins you a round and all these people saying he won, but didn't do anything that entire round when Anthony was fighting defensively and was gun shy

I missed the third round, and assumed Span wouldve gone for the finish despite his leg being compromised.

When I got back and saw it was a decision, i assumed Spann probably lost because he lets off the gas and the 3rd round probably sucked.

I put money on Smith to win after his eye exploded.

Just kidding.

Spann doesn't even train marital arts or even work on his fitness at all. Once he decides to actually try he'll be unstoppable.

R1 10-9 Smith
R2 10-8 Spann
R3 10-9 Spann

I'm still completely unsure what Smith landed that was at all impactful round 3, not that Spann went hard that round but he has great athleticism so even his noncommittal shots were still big ones

Spann didn't land anything in the 3rd either.

I think a lot of people are swayed by the shot where Smith stumbles. It looked like Spann rocked him but he didn't land at all.

2 good shots to Smith's eye could have close the deal but Spann decided to go to a decision.

Spann earned that loss by not taking over the fight in round 3. It was close enough that I dont think its a robbery either way.

Smith has a lot of heart but I feel like that's his only elite attribute any more. He's had a weird career trajectory.

That being said, I had it 2-1 Smith but round three was absolutely able to be scored for either guy.

Another softball matchup served by the ufc and another failure. Maybe needs a camp change? Either way, not going for the kill when he had Smith severely compromised will be leaving some serious scarred tissue
