Social South Korean subways fat shaming people who use escalators

I'd touch them with teh jab if they call me fat

It's a trifle compared to Japan.

This sign is accurate though

If you're offended by that, maybe it's you and not them? Maybe you're being given an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge your insecurities and do something about it? As someone who uses stairs instead of of elevators, I support Korea.

I lived in Korea for two years, and fat shaming is normal there.

They should be making the fatties walk up the stairs to burn some calories & lose weight instead of using the escalator.

Its called staying healthy. The US by calling being fat "fatphobie" are on track to be obese with 80% of its population by 2050. You are working towards continous reducing your life expectancy turning into a nation of fat unhealthy blobs.

If any country needs these signs its someone as TUrkey, US, Mexico..etc

Its never helping to keep people in their delusion because they cant face reality. Japan and South Korea are the only highly industrialized countries having no problem with this. Maybe we should learn from them. There is a reason what thats the case.
I saw an short of an American traveling Europe being astounded by the fact Europeans like to be outside to hang out and eat and drink coffee. Based on the video it looked like somewhere in Italy. Not a single fat person in the video. Walking around, getting some sun, and just being outside is somehow mindblowing to some Americans.

Biggest reason for their fatness is the industrialization of food production. All fast food or processed food with zero nutrition and lots of transfats. US has thousands of contracts with these companies even in schools. They push children into addiction to unhealthy food and soft drinks. It honestly should be criminal to treat children like that. You ask an american kid about their favourite food and they will say something horrible unhealthey.

You ask a japanese kid about their favourite food and they will come up with a vegetable. In Japan every school has fresh food from the market with an expert nutritionist preparing the meals and educating the children. Thats were you would need to start but it offends a billion dollar industry profiting from making people worse.

If you look at what american kids ate in the 50s and 60s this development is just sad

They have funny racism stuff in Korea too. They ban track suits and certain sneakers. It's not for the Russians....

  • A sign meant to encourage commuters to opt for the stairs instead of the escalator at a train station in Seoul has gone viral online
  • The floor stickers feature two stickmen, one chubbier with an arrow pointing to the escalator, and the other slimmer with an arrow directing towards the staircase
  • A video of the sign has garnered mixed reactions from online users
  • Some found the sign "fatphobic", while others considered it an "honest" reminder to take care of one's health
  • Fatphobia is reportedly prevalent in South Korea, where the beauty standards are strict and favour a slender body type

Fat shaming actually works tbh

I think that fat people know they are fat.

I always get shit on whenever I go to the gym. Insults about my size, people saying it doesn't work, people complaining about me leaving them alone in order to do it. Nobody advised, nobody said I was looking better.

I'd rather just tell people to fuck off and shut myself away whenever I'm off work.

People who do stuff like this aren't helping, nor they are they trying to help. They are bullying for the sake of bullying, using flimsy social acceptances in order to justify themselves.
