I know Europe is center of Futbol universe. However if you look all time and create an all time South American born team vs an all Time European born team n made a series of 7 games first to 4 wins who wins that series and is it even close With SA having Maradona, Pele, R9, Messi , etc. Many here know futbol better than me so I ask is this not the 4-0 squash I think it would be and if not how so?

Is SA even in the Champions league.

europe dominates continentl competitions be that club world cup or world cup

Lol @ dominates in the world cup. Europe has almost double the population and 4 times as many countries as South America, and has won a staggering TWO more world cups. Seems to me, that South Americans are just better at soccer.

You compile an all time grest team from SA vs Europe . That's Pele, Maradona, Messi, R9 on same team not to mention other legends. Thats maybe 4 (at least 3) of top 5 ever futbol players on same team . You could make it SA vs entire world i still favor South America.

Maradona was like Barry Sanders on a soccer field at peak you don't even need to like soccer at all to enjoy seeing him.play when he was peak..

In an all-time South America vs Europe game, South America probably wins.

But Europe is bigger so if it gets to something like South America's E-team vs Europe's E-team Europe takes it.

In an all time gsme just dont know how anyone stops peak sober Maradona he was literally Barry Sanders on a soccer field - especially when you got R9 , Pele, and Messi there. Europeans are likely bigger and more physical but as good as they are..... the top 3 ever to play are pretty much in most lists Messi, .Maradona, Pele. All south Americans. Maybe Europe wins 2 of 7 but doubt it .

Yeah, you could throw Alfredo DiStefano in there and argue that South America has 4 of the top 4 greatest players ever.

South America is offense-heavy and Europe more defensive as well. South America winning 6/7 out of 10 is what I'd go with.

Honestly I would put R9 right there too if going peak..

Yes he was stopped in final Italia 90.but after that and Napoli it was down hill for him
Yeah brah but dude was sky high on every drug he could find by then.

Buffon
A. Cole, Maldini, Ramos (or Baresi/Nesta), Lahm.
Busquests
Kroos, Zidane.
Cristiano and Robben.
Henry.

SA:
Hmm goalie not really sure who to pick here.
Carlos, Passarella, Godin, Cafu
Redondo
Kaka, Socrates.
Ronaldinho, R9, Messi
Note: went with 4-3-3 for both teams and tried to pick players in their actual positions and in their absolute prime.

Whoa, no Cruyff, Maradona or Pele is mighty bold! I'm assuming you're only including the ones you've seen yourself.

I'm a big history nerd so I like to include all the old timers (not super old though, WWII-present)

---------------Buffon
Lahm--Baresi--Beckenbauer--Maldini
--------------Rijkaard
Platini---------------Cruyff
Best-----Puskas---Ronaldo

-----------------Chilavert
Cafu--Passarella--Figueroa--Roberto Carlos
-------------------Redondo
Maradona---------------Di Stefano
Messi--------Ronaldo----Pele

Messi and Maradona too similar. Furthermore Pele and Di Stefano were strikers. Way too top heavy and Europe midfield would make em chase the ball.
Hence one needs to drop em for Messi and R9.

Europe forward was my last pick, came down to Henry, Benz and Cruyff. With Europe being defense heavy ok playing counter attacking football. Robben, Cristiano and Henry running full speed with Kroos feeding them (and Zidane outside the box for long shots), well thats wet dream for managers like Mou and Simeone.
Also while Maldini was able play as fullback (as was Ramos) but he is the centerback for me.

No way were Messi and Maradona too similar, mate. Young Maradona did play more up front but in his prime, he was a classic #10, in the middle of the pitch delivering balls to the strikers at Napoli and Argentina. Prime Messi was on the right with Xavi and Iniesta more in the middle.

But Di Stefano in there probably is too offensive. He dropped back to the middle later in his career but was very much a forward. Ronaldinho, Riquelme, or Zico could fit in there.

And Cruyff was definitely a winger or withdrawn forward so you can definitely include him there. Every highlight I've seen of him, he's coming up the sides or playing through the middle. But he's not at the very top like a Henry or Van Basten (who I'd put ahead of Henry, btw).

A forward line of Cruyff-Henry-Ronaldo would be absolutely brutal.

Messi/Maradona/Pele/Ronaldinho/Ronaldo > Any 5 european players in history

Soccer is huge in Europe, but it is a religion in South America.

No baggio or prosinecki no totti nedved deshamps lizarazu there is many more players who could play for europe
