The CEO of Bellator MMA wants nothing to do with disgraced UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares -- telling us the UFC's decision to fire him this week was spot on.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney says he's not interested because, "Risks already exist for the courageous, world class fighters who enter the Bellator cage; without adding further unnecessary risks into the mix

Bjorn adds, "Fighter safety is paramount to me and my team."

He was hoping to join Bellator and accidentally break some ankles. I think he might be a suspect in a Yan Cabral situation..............................TBD. :icon_lol: j/k That's good to hear the MMA orgs are taking their work seriously.

I feel bad for other MW/WW's if Palhares ends up joining a small fed where he is the big fish in a small pond. That's an infinite number of knees that are about to get fucked up

Rebney playing mind games with Dana again, I think this guy is going to school Dana White in the public arena.

For years Dana has had free reign to mouth off, tell half truths or completely lie, flip flop and back-flip when it suits him, or when he doesn't have a leg to stand on he publicly berates and character assassinates people.

Rebney will rip him to shreds in a battle of wits and Dana will get exposed as a loudmouth who blusters and bullies.

Everyone has known Dana as a loudmouth habitual liar boxercise instructor who got lucky he had gazillionaire high school buddies. Dana was even against the idea of TUF, which is what blew the UFC up.

None of this is new information. It still has had zero effect on Dana's place in the business.

He has about 10% of a company valued at almost $1 billion, gets to say whatever stupid shit he wants and intimidate professional fighters while rarely getting called out in public by media or fighters, and flings his money around like nothing at casinos and restaurants.

Dana will continue living his life as Lorenzo's lapdog and PR guy, Bjorn will have no effect at all.

So you think the fact that Bellator won't sign Palhares is in no way worthy of a thread?

I kind of wonder if any fighters would be willing to fight Palhares at this point? Knowing that he's going to go for a leg lock, and if he gets it, you'll end up fucked up would be a pretty strong motivation to refuse to fight him.

I almost wonder if this wasn't some sort of psychological game on Palhares's part that blew up in his face. Maybe he wanted to be feared as someone who would injure you in order to get in other fighters' heads.

Has no one to blame but himself unfortunately. Multiple time repeat offender of this very offense. Not just in the UFC. If you have that kind of disregard at a professional level then you just don't belong.
