Sorry but bareknuckle fights should NEVER go to decisions.

Not sure how many people know this, but boxing started as bare knuckle...the great John L sullivan was the first champion...then jack johnson...they were all bare knuckle fighters...but these fights often went dozens of rounds...and many of the rounds were so boring, hardly any punches being thrown...lots of holding and hitting and shit like that...which is why the rules were changed to the queensbury rules, I believe...they realized that wearing gloves made the fights much more exciting...

Unlimited rounds heavily favored the tough guys that had a lot of stamina, which is why Jeffries was near unbeatable during his reign.

Tell Chris leben his fight sucked to his face next time you see him. Spit at him and throw An uppercut while your at it!..

It's bareknuckle boxing. It's one step above bum fights where you get to see old washed up fighters really go in there and lose what ever memories they had of their children. I can't understand the appeal
Maybe that IS the appeal.

Its boring as hell, may as well put gloves on em so they aren't so afraid to get hit.

Let that soak in.

Bare knuckle doesn't mean more KO's. It just means more cuts. Also, 5 two minute rounds is a bad format imo.

also, it should be held in a parking lot instead of a "ring".
Nah that fuckery.
Boxing was originally, under Maquess of Queensbury rules, unlimited 3 minute rounds until a man can't get up, unassisted, during a 10 second count after being considered knocked down.

So it's really not as barbaric as you try and make it sound.

Jack Dempsey is legendary for hitting people's shoulders and arms so that in round 25 the couldn't throw punches anymore or lift their hands up for defense.

nah, fuck the Marquis of Queensbury bruh. We're trying to recreate the greatest combat sport known to man- the schoolyard fight at lunchtime.

It’s not so much that they’re afraid to get hit as much as they’re afraid to throw with full power. There’s a reason why OG punchers like Vitor and Tank opted to wear gloves in the early days despite their not being required.

I know it’s a bit of an odd statement to make but the vast majority of the fighters on the bkfc cards are amateurs in the bare knuckle realms insofar as they’re part timers primarily known for their ventures in the MMA and boxing realms. When you watch a bare knuckle specialist in action, you’ll notice that he’s surprisingly methodical and econnomical in action. The philly shell, turned head stance is largely ineffective due to there being less (read: no) glove protection and the fact that it partially exposes the side of the head. The guys stand square, hold their hands way the hell up and tuck their chins so comically tight that they look like they’re staring at the floor. With no hand padding, the top of the cranium becomes a weapon, which brings me to my next point. Because of the ever present hand hazards, it’s rare to see haymaker fests and in fact, you’ll likely to see lots of pawing and Bas Rutten palm striking.

It’s actually quite the opposite

A)people are afraid to break their hands so they don’t throw full power
B) people break their hands and throw out pitter patter punches as a result

Boxing used to be BK and had no round limits and shit would go 65 rounds, how exciting do you think that is ?

Artem throws his hands with little worry...

he retired undefeated. he only lost when he came back and literally had to lose over a 100lbs to fight jack johnson...who beat him up bad...might have been a different fight, if they fought in jeffries prime.

Dont be sorry bro.
It's not your fault.
