I couldn't think of a worse fight if I tried to.

Chael and Rua are in my top 5 favorites.

You have Shogun on one hand who has been struggling with two things as of late:

1- Cardio
2- Wrestling

Anyone with wrestling 101, wants to take come in with a plan to get a TD on Shogun and get a decision. How do they fix that?

Meet Joe Silva. He throws Shogun one of the best MMA wrestlers with a cardio tank that lasts days.

There's NO point to this fight, because if/when Chael wins, he won't move closer cuz he's pretty much never going near that belt again, and it's only going to make things worse for Shogun's career.

Can Shogun win? Sure .. Would you bet on it? Hell no.

This is horrible fight, especially at this stage of Shogun's career. If he gets UD and retires, I'm sending a hate letter to Joe Silva.

Event is in August 17th.

That's a full camp from now. They could have found someone better if Lil Nog can't make it.

Keep Sonnen/Wand, and get Shogun someone new.

Seems like most people think it's a terrible fight but then people are split on why it's a mismatch. Half think Shogun is going to make quick work of Sonnen, other half think Sonnen is going to grind him out.

Guess that makes it a good fight lol
 
This fight will look like coleman just he ko will come early. Also it wouldn't surprise me if shogun took sonnen down and pounded him out
 
As you just said, this fight is pretty good for Sonnen's perspective.

Sure he is not getting another title vs Silva or Bones anytime soon, but Silva will not last many years and Bones might move to HW soon.

Shogun is also not getting a title shot anytime soon either. Did you want him to be a stepping stone for a guy like Manuwa? At this point the other obvious guys like Glover are already above Shogun on the pecking order.
 
It seems like Chaels biggest selling point is his pre-fight antics. I dont think Shogun is gonna play the game so this fight is kinda pointless

As a Shogun fan, I can see him finishing Chael, but not dominating him.

I see this being a beat down by the hands of Chael.

Everyone seems to forget the skillset of Chael becuase he is on a losing streak.
 
shogun has a great ground game off his back and sonnen cant seem to sustain one good blow before ending up in the fetal position

i think its a good fight

So fans of Shogun want him to work his way back up to a title shot with Jones but are afraid he can't beat Sonnen? If you can't beat Sonnen at LHW you really shouldn't even be considered a contender.
 
Chael will destroy Shogun the same way he has destroyed every Brazilian fighter he ever faced.
 
Chael might get cut after he loses to Shogun, that's 3 straight.

all 3 fight losing streaks are not the same.

not many fighters can send a stupid tweet and instantly get booked for a high profile main event.
