Chael says hw division is the weakest. Yea right. A division where any guy can win with one punch can’t be the weakest. An easy division is one like mm’s where there are no contenders. At hw until recently being the hw champion (before stipe) was like playing musical chairs. Compared to division with multiple title defenses, I’d say it isn’t the weakest.

Here is the thing. If you think of fighters outside of the top 20 then HW becomes one of the weaker divisions in terms of overall talent. BUT when you're talking about top 10 HWs there arent any better or deadlier fighters out there and there are no fighters out there who are tougher to beat in a fight.

This is how he is on these little snippets he does for his youtube channel. You see the real Sonnen, who seems like a good bloke and very respectful, instead his pre fight hype gangster character.

I always hate it when people say HW is the easiest division. HW is why weight classes exist, so everyone else can not get destroyed by these big dudes. Frank Mir said it himself, heavyweights have the highest KO percentage, because any guy that big can end it in one punch. There is no margin of error at HW.

Jon Jones has said multiple times that he doesn't want to fight those big guys and would only go to HW against some of the smaller guys. He should know from experience as he has trained with Mir, Arlovksi and Overeem. If he matched up well with them and was destroying them he wouldn't have any problem going to HW.

Chael would have 0 chance At that time vs Barnett, nog, crocop, Sergei, Alex, Igor, etc etc. He likes to talk, but he knows if Fedor hits him it's over. He won't take Fedor down, and even if he did he would get reversed soon after. Against smaller guys especially Fedor always lands on top due to his judo and Sambo. I can't see a way Fedor loses this fight. Chael just doesn't have the power to threaten on the feet, and Fedor is better on the ground. The clinch that is effective vs smaller guys for chael will end with a judo throw and Fedor ground and pounding him.

Less skilled, but certainly the most dangerous. If it was the weakest, you wouldn't have so many fighters cutting to make 205 (Fedor could easily, he'll probably look the same size as Chael come fight night except pudgier)

What is Chael going to do to gas him out? He would get clobbered on the feet and completely outmuscled in grappling exchanges with submission game not even being competitive. Unless Chael has recently been diagnosed with Homer Simpson syndrome, I can't imagine what resistance he has to offer that will tire Fedor out

Why do people keep talking about Fedor gassing out lately? Fedor has always had great cardio for a HW. It's one of the best things he has going for him, even though he tends to finish or lose quickly these days by forcing the fight. That says nothing about his cardio.

As weird as it feels to know that the two of them are about to face each other in the cage, I gotta say that now that the idea sank in, it's prettty awesome! a weird match up for sure, but that what makes it even more fun. No idea what to expect to be honest, but I'm damn sure will be watching!

Its the only way, but I can't see chael taking shots until he does gas. Chael def isn't top notch. A few shots from Fedor and he will panic wrestle and end up on bottom w a Hw on top of him. Anything can happen in a fight, but I wouldn't bet a dime on chael in this fight.
