something really angered/scared me today

i dunno if the double post means sarcasm or what

i truly fucking hope its not CNS burnout

Meh it's happened to all of us. I've had a days where I ate great, had good sleep and been unable to put up decent numbers.

doing flat DB bench press today

usually start off with 50s and work up to 105x8-ish

got up to 100s...couldn't even fucking press the thing. at all. couldn't even get it 2 inches off my chest. my tris or shoulders weren't gassed or anything, my body just didn't want to move it. so i thought, ok, ill take 5 minutes rest, maybe my body is being a *** for some reason. went back to it, same thing.

has anyone ever had this? :icon_neut

Yup, happened mid set though, on shoulder press. my muscles just decided not to do anything and the weight fell and i dislocated my shoulder :( still rehabing it lol

Edit: just read more of the posts lol, i guess it could be CNS burn out, just have a few days off if it keeps happening. I think mine was due to not eating properly the day before/morning before going to the gym and not really having much engergy

has anyone ever had this? when your body just turned into a bitch for the day? at first i was angry at myself, i didnt know what was wrong. i got enough sleep the night before, adequate nutrition and everything. i wasn't doing anything wrong at all.

but now im kinda scared at for some reason my strength might have magically dropped overnight. :icon_neut

"Your occasional lapses in strength frighten and confuse me"

Its funny you mentioned it. 2 weeks ago this happened to me on the incline press. I couldnt do 1. A week later I did the same weight for 8 reps.

I always find that if I'm fired up and motivated for the gym, I have a shitty session. If I drag myself in there feeling like death, I seem to have a conan moment and break a personal record!

Maybe its because when I have no expectation I can relax, and when I'm feeling tired I have to concentrate on my form and balance more so I don't drop it.

Theres no such thing as a bad workout - crashing and burning with 60% of your normal workout is better than that aching guilt when you skip a session

You are getting old, you've peaked and now day by day you are going to get weaker. Line up a Viagra prescription and start shopping for a grave plot.

Or maybe you just had a bad day.

There are days when weight just wants to staple itself to the floor. Make the best out of it, and continue on.
