Tell me why this fight will be different than any other fight that Diaz has had with a wrestler. Every time he goes up against a wrestler, he gets stapled to the mat and now we're supposed to believe he'll be the first person in a long time to not allow GSP to do that to him? He went down to the minor leagues and beat up one some guys who refused to do anything but stand their and let Diaz box them up, then loses to Condit and now name the guy to beat GSP? Please, someone tell me how Diaz wins this fight.

Because Diaz hasn't fought GSP yet so there is no way you can know for sure how this fight will play out until it plays out.

It won't but that doesn't mean it won't be entertaining and worth watching.
JH deserved the titleshot, but Diaz derserves an ass kicking.
So either way the fans won.

Unless Diaz becomes Chuck Liddell in terms of TDD, he's going to be looking at the lights all night. He has nothing to offer GSP because GSP is not going to stand there and let Diaz hit him.

When you put it that way, I agree.

I think there will be less scrambles. GSP will be more careful than Benson IMO. GSP will probably be in his guard more using elbows. Benson vs Diaz was a sexy fight cause of all the hard punches from Ben and crazy BJJ scrambles and leg locks that Diaz initiated.

Benson was pretty aggressive in that fight, don't see GSP being as aggressive, but I don't really see him losing either. If Nick can get his boxing going it's gonna be problematic, but if GSP grinds on him on the cage I don't think there will be anything Nick can do.

Because on the poster Diaz's face covers the whole background so he looks like big threat.

People's opinions mean nothing. The only way to know who's the better fighter is to have them fight. Being declared the winner on a MMA forum doesn't count as an official win, sorry TS.

this fight will be different because GSP is gonna go into "beastmode" to teach that stockton badboy a lesson. i dont think diaz has a whole lot to offer to gsp but if gsp is gonna be fighting like fedor against hendo then diaz' chances go up termendously. if gsp doesnt take any chances and fights safe its 50-45 all day.

If Diaz can negate GSP's TD's for 5 rounds then officially NOTHING will surprise me in MMA anymore

Diaz'll lose, but he does have a good guard, so it's possible he can get some kind of submission

I never thought about it like this before... Suddenly I'm no longer upset about Hendricks getting the shot.

Yeah it most likely won't be. Chances are St. Pierre will easily take down Diaz at will and control him for all five rounds or TKO him off of a cut or something. That's why this is an awful fight and there is such strong speculation that St. Pierre only called out Diaz because he wants an easier fight than Hendricks or Silva.

    Oh well, war Diaz.

    TS,

Styles make fights. IMO, the Diaz brothers are entertaining and I enjoy their high volume of punches, great use of reach, toughness, and great ground game, but wrestlers are indeed their kryptonite (sp?). If GSP fights safe, he should be able to pull this one off easily. I would love to see a competitive fight but see this one going to GSP.
