Adrenaline dumps are no joke.
Especially against a feriocious fighter like Matt Brown.
You could see Silva's confidence go down once Brown got back to his feet. Erik is used to fighters being finished in the first round but Matt was immortal last night and he kept on fighting. That's gotta be hard mentally for a fighter like Erik Silva.
The same thing happened with Jordan Mein.
Especially against a feriocious fighter like Matt Brown.

He pushed way to hard for the finish when he dropped Brown. He also needs to either lose some muscle to make an easier cut to 170lb or move up to 185lb. You'll never beat anyone in the top 10 of any division if you can't go at a high pace for 5 rounds.

No gas tank. Nothing either fighter did should have gassed him that hard.

Too explosive to be elite. You will never be an A-level fighter with an NFL-level gas tank.
Also, he was fighting Matt Brown. A born fighter who can beat well trained 'athletes' via pure natural talent. No matter what Silva did, it would be almost impossible for him to finish a guy like Brown. Same reason a jacked up, well trained athlete like Overeem will never be in the same league as a natural born fighter like Cain Velasquez.
And it's the same reason a guy like Bob Sapp can play professionally in the NFL and look like a joke when it comes to fighting.
Silva does deserve respect for hanging in there as long as he did though.
