1. I had expected that gameplan from Fury. The dumbest thing you can do against Wilder is back up and respect his punches too much. As seen by the succes Ortiz had against him, and what happened to Fury in the first fight. Though you have to have the skills to avoid the counters, however Wilder is not that skilled of a counter puncher. Fury obviously has the skills to do this.
I was though expecting more pressure and especially clinch body work from Fury to tire out Wilder and use his weight advantage. I guess it was not needed.
2. The eardrum being busted was obviously a huge implication, but Wilder was breathing heavy before that. The Weight gain was really a bad idea from Wilder, and i was shocked when they said they didnt monitor his weight in camp. He had to have the speed advantage to have a chance here. Extra weight is not a good idea here.
He did show serious heart though, and without the busted eardrum i dont think Fury would have gotten the finish, but he would still have dominated the fight.
3. The Commentary was fucking horrible. How about getting someone with some knowledge in there? Stiff as fuck play by play, and what was the girl doing in there? Though she wasnt actually terrible, but the combo was bad. Howabout some actual analysis for a fight this big?
Wilder can't wait on Fury and let him be on the front foot in the third. Same thing will happen. He has to get the early KO i think. Thoughts?
