    Same old same old.

M-1 couldn't get out of there own way for the better meant of Fedor which in return would've benefited M-1.

I think Fedor had problems with his management throughout his career. They took advantage of his name and maybe salary back in Pride, he changed negotiators. A stadium is a bit steep to land Fedor. At least they tried to put it together but I would have turned down a deal if they requested a stadium built. No way jose.

So does he confirm his claim that he flew to a distant island to meet the M-1 people and Fedor?

Oh Dana, you'll never understand that little thing called tact. Goes a long way with people like Fedor.

Why is this all coming out now and why do we still even talk about it. Fedor chose not to go to UFC and retired shortly after, end of story. He made bucco bucks and not going to UFC didn't hurt his legacy or his career or his financial situation. He is rich, he is super famous in his country and he knows powerful people. Fedor not coming to the UFC didn't hurt they UFC, it is still popular and still considered the worlds best MMA org. Let's just drop this already.

    True..
but if you go by Dana's opinion Fedor :

-never was really goat, actually in his own opinion he even sucked in a way
-he is bankrupt or didnt really ear a lot of money
-didnt want to join the ufc or make a big fight because of blablbla...They even flew to some x island that never existed (Fedor said to Ariel there never was one)
-Fedor sleeps today every night with his eyes open regretting deeply how he didnt make the fight while he is living in poverty (lol, the guy is super rich, plus has a cozy government job given directly by Putin)
    -Fedor is not important anymore

Dana really needs to get his head checked and blow some air out of that ego...

He's still talking about that random island. He's still making up the whole building the stadium thing....

He's so bitter about the whole thing.

This. Even when Zuffa made them a reasonable offer, it was too late. Dana had insulted them too much

Fedor being part of his own promotion, and not getting in exclusive contract with anybody was the best thing he ever did. He and M-1 even own their own footage, no way that would happen if he signed with Zuffa.

Furthermore, i personally tend to doubt had M-1 not existed (thus not holding a league of its own in Russia, since Zuffa obviously wouldn't want M-1 to exist separately as it does not co-promote) that Vladmir Putin and Fedor would be as close as they have been. Its not about money, who cares if he could have made more money under Zuffa or not; he got prestige, he became head of the Russian MMA Union and MMA became a nationally-recognized sport by the Russian government. If Fedor was a lowly employee of an American company, I doubt he'd get any such accolades from the Russian govt. He didn't during the PRIDE years, and wouldn't have in the UFC (if Putin didn't attend any of his SF/Affliction cards, he wouldn't attend his UFC cards either). M-1 was the right way to go; Russian blood, Russian soil.
