This happen to your computer?

My antivirus flagged some process saying it was about to take a screenshot. I couldn't think of going to Task Manager and looking at the name of the file corresponding to the process ID.

Need to try to recreate the situation and see if it does it again. I'm wondering if it was a legit program where the license was expensive and if they're trying to catch unlicensed users.

Could be malware trying to grab sensitive information like banking balances or encrypted data, or working in conjunction with key loggers.

Software like that wouldn't be "about" to take a picture it would simply do it. You got a virus or malware in your antivirus

Sounds like one of those "Your files may be under threat!" spywares.

Your computer's fucked. Better shred your HD just to be safe.

Might be best to refomat if your visus protection cant take care of it. Stay disconnected from the internet till you get it straightened out too

We have software at work that does that...when you've been bad and management wants to drop the hammer on you. If it's on your personal computer, then what everyone else has been saying in this thread.

Call William Binney.

iPhones take a screenshot of web pages to display during loading, creating the impression of reduced loading times for safari. Or at least 2 year old one does.

The problem is, it's not refreshed constantly, so you can have an old screenshot that's pulled up whenever you open the app. That gets tricky if by chance it took that shot while you were visiting a site with sensitive material, like a credit card number or, as in my case, a page showing the preview image for a hardcore pornography video. Apple forums offered no real way to clear it, but after a few months it was replaced by something a little more pg.

The antivirus catches stuff and then asks if you want to allow or block. I blocked.

I'm going to try to re-create what I think was the trigger then look at Task Manager to see the name of the process ID.

Couldn't recreate the situation where antivirus flagged the software about to take a screenshot, but luckily my antivirus software keeps an automatic log for a certain # of days, so when keyword searched "screenshot", it listed the one instance on the date I noted and it turns out it was legit software that had a very expensive licensing fee. Glad to know it wasn't some malware type shit, but still an invasion of privacy. What if I had naked boobs on the screen at the time?

sounds like employer-based software to see what kind of porn your watching and trade secrets your stealing

Good get the manager thats doing that in trouble. Export the system event viewer to a .csv file and search for the user that you think is watching your PC. Then take it to your manager, get out of jail free card.
