Soa "The Hulk" Palelei

I hope Soa makes it but I wonder who exactly he trains with, who he trains under and what he is doing. I think he runs his own gym or something..from what I've seen he seems to be lifting more weights than actual running drills and sparring, hopefully I'm wrong. But yeah, the ufc really needs aussies and really needs hw's, they've signed guys with much less stellar records..I think he could beat guys like Barry, Morecraft, Mitrione, Jordan, De Fries etc. Strong, good wrestling, good top control and does have some pretty brutal old school GnP.

This will sound harsh, but guys like him, Sanchez, Hague and Beltran shouldn't be in the UFC. The HW div is pretty good now for the first time, no need for guys who are more suited for smaller shows.

His fight with Eddie Sanchez was AWFUL. I still think he doesn't get asked back because of this.

It was 6 years ago, can't really judge him on that fight.

I haven't seen any of his fights since then, but do any of those victories really deserve to put him back in the UFC? Like someone else mentioned maybe for an Australian show, otherwise I don't think so.

so you haven't seen him fight in 6 years, but you just assume that he doesn't deserve another shot.

you should be a talent scout.

Thanks Duke. I was going by the names he's beaten since then

8 fight win streak, 7 first round finishes, 1 second round finish.

it's not who his beating, it's how his beating them.

Sanchez was getting his ass kicked until he kicked Soa in the nuts anyway..

I think UFC should sign more heavyweight fighters, I think they should lower the bar for them to join as well. The Heavyweight division is a major cash flow, and I think UFC should look to have at least 1 HW fight in each event.

Garner is locked up with M-1 and probably not going anywhere. Minakov is signed with Bellator too, so don't expect to see either of those guys in the octagon soon. And The Beast is in jail until June on a drug/domestic abuse charge, so it's questionable if Zuffa brass would even want him.

I really agree with you on Grabowski. Oh, and check his FF - his next opponent is the prolific "Unknown Fighter." What a shame. He should be fighting top opponents.

I'm not very familiar with the rest you've listed.

At HW going on a long streak even against meh competition is noteworthy, it's the division most prone to fluke. No harm in giving him a try
