So why don't we hear that DC lost simply because he punched himself out at a wild pace?

it's an excuse because it's not why he lost. He got rocked multiple times by a superior striker before he gassed, if he even did. He was still throwing uppercuts and kicks until he got rocked, then he suddenly "gassed" it's an excuse.
I believe it was a big part of why he lost and why Nate is the better fighter but even if I'm wrong it's still not an excuse, shitty cardio is never an excuse just like losing because the opponent had better striking and grappling isn't an excuse.

“He landed a really good knee or something back in the first round that kind of got my rib real good, and I can feel it. He did a great job of punching to the body. First he was hitting me with a left body shot right on my rib,” Cormier said. “As the fight progressed, he changed it to more of a straight punch to my rib -- every time he hit me with it I could feel it take some energy out of my body.”

He didn't look tired until Diaz started teeing off on him.

As for the OP. Right after the fight everyone was saying DC gassed but that's been forgotten.

He most definitely DID look tired before Diaz landed anything. Go watch the fight

Cormier lost because Jones is much better and more skilled and the best fighter ever. thats why

Because DC doesn't have a fanbase of annoying tweens.

Seriously the most pathetic, desperate excuse ever. So now fighting at walk around weight causes fighters to lose their cardio endurance? So cutting weight and not cutting weight are both the same excuse. Got it.
