News surfaced over a week ago that Tarec Saffiedine has come down with yet another injury, forcing him out of his main event fight with Matt Brown in Colorado in early February and we haven't gotten any updates on a potential replacement for the fight. You'd have to think the fight being just a few days over a month away that the UFC is hustling to find a viable replacement for the fight. Who do you think they come up with to fill in?

My best guesses are Hector Lombard, who won his fight with Burkman escaping with hardly a scratch could probably step in, but in a recent interview he stated he had his sights set on Rory MacDonald, so not too sure that happens. I'd say the winner of Woodley/Gastelum is way too quick a turnaround for anyone not named Donald Cerrone, although Woodley has showed he can fight on a consistent basis KOing Dong Hyun Kim just a month after his loss to Rory MacDonald.

Other than that, I don't see many viable replacements other than pulling Brandon Thatch from his currently scheduled fight with Wonderboy Thompson on the same card to fight in the main event, or a drastically shot turnaround for the winner of Jordan Mein and Thiago Alves and Mein already holds a loss to Brown. Options seem incredibly thin but I'm very curious to see what the UFC comes up with.

I dont care. I just want to know who the chick is in your av.

Cerrone after he beats bendo in the first.

MacDonald doesnt have a fight

Rick Story could be a decent option as well. Coming off that win over Gunnar.

Winner of thatch v wonderboy fights twice in one night making a faster turn aroumd tham cowboy.

Rick Story is the best option in my opinion. Or as much as I love the Magny/Strasser fight. Have Neil Magny step up. Why the hell not

If Brown and the UFC insist on keeping him in the main event on this card, a rematch with Dong Hyun Kim makes the most sense. They have a history together with a somewhat controversial decision years ago (UFC 88!). Also, both guys are coming off losses. However, the more days that pass, the less likely this pairing is actually made. A bout with Rick Story is intriguing, though I think that he is more likely to be paired with Erick Silva at some point this spring, either in Rio (probably the likely location), or US card.

In regard to the Colorado event itself, IMO, they should have moved Henderson/Cerrone III to anchor this event (the Boston event is all abour McGregor anyway) and try to book Brown vs. Lombard on the Fight Night event in Asia on March 7.

Henderson may have balked at that as he was on schedule to fight January 18 and the only way he takes the Cerrone fight is in the current scenario.

I still would love to see Brown vs Alves. I know he's scheduled to fight Mein (which is a awesome fight!) but I cant help to think that Brown vs Alves would be violence in it's purest form.

I'd watch Brown get murdered by Alves.

This could actually quite possibly work out. I like it.

I don't even think he's back to training yet.

God dammit thats what I thought, was hoping for some new porn star I never heard of. I mean I need new spank material. Wait, what.

Brown vs Lombard would be pretty cool. Send one guy up to fight Rory and the other guy down to fight Condit upon his return

Alves vs Twood/Gastelum winner

I'm a huuuge Alves fan but I think it would be competitive. Alves doesn't like to be pressured. But on the other hand, Brown doesn't like to get hit to the body (who does?) and I think Alves would batter it. Plus I just want to see him throw some legkicks again. Alves, Saffiedine, Barboza, Cerrone & Aldo, I can watch those guys throw legkicks all day. And it can frustrate me for a week if they didn't threw enough of them.

I've been keeping a close eye on this as well, I was so close to buying tickets but the lack of updates makes me think it'll be a thrown together type fight. Matt Brown will fight anyone so could be any random fighter.
