So who believes that Rubio and NRA spokesperson Loesch got destroyed in the gun debate?

After watching this video, an awful lot of spectators saying Rubio and Loesch got wrecked and torn apart in this debates.

Do you concur with the assertion that they lost the intellectual battle by a the high school students and that both of them lost the debate soundly?

The idea that being a student at a school that had a shooting somehow makes your opinion special and better than other people, get the fuck out. It's like finding someone who ate a donut, putting them on TV and interviewing them on how they think the donut factory should be run. Are they going to interview all 2000 "survivors".

I didn’t watch it so I can’t say who won, but can say for certain that all the participants and everyone who watched the video lost.

I guess these kids are tired of the fear of being shot at school

But it's whatever

They were put in uncomfortable spots as lobbyists. Nothing will change.

This whole thing is one big psy op. CNN, these kids, the town hall...all orchestrated to make another push at the 2nd amendment.

The left is simultaneously going after the 1st amendment, the 2nd amendment, and our duly elected president. These people are going to cause a civil war.

Who's the dude on the left in the bottom thumbnail? He's kinda cute.

Being able to change things is one of the features of the constitution. Don't you understand that?

They are not pushing to amend the constitution tho...as that would be a non-starter for the American public. But if they can chip away at gun rights until they have effectively neutralized the 2nd amendment.

You guys are pretty sick.

The second amendment was written in reference to a well regulated militia. The current situation being defended under the second amendment has very little to do with state militias, and is pretty much the opposite of well regulated when crazy children can buy guns.

I get called sick for pointing out a feature of the constitution, but it's your side who claim to be law abiding citizens, yet threaten civil war at the thought of your hobby being disrupted in the name of child safety. Sad.

It's unlikely that any amendments will get passed with the way the senate and house are at the moment, but who knows. You voted a political novice as your leader, who knows if he'll be able to defend your rights or not.

Yes, and if we the people ever needed to form a well regulated militia we may want to use some AR-15s.

What makes you sick is the dishonesty and the blaming of gun owners for murders. You want to punish and demonize innocent people and chip away at one of their more sacred rights who have had nothing to do with it.

Between gun control, regulations, taxes, health care, censorship, and almost everything else...the right cant help but to look at the left as this crazed mob trying to the our rights and freedoms away. That is what's going to cause a civil war.

The CNN town hall on firearms reminded me (and a few other commentators as well) of George Orwell's "two minutes hate" from "1984".

In this instance, Rubio and Loesch are standing in for Goldstein.

Nah Rubio did ok. Not much to like about him but I give him props for showing up. Impossible for him to win that one.
That NRA spokesperson did alright also because she was lying the whole time.
Which is ok she is a lobbyist it is her job. You should just make sure those people don't have any influence in politics.

Just a quick question as an observer, and maybe I'm wrong about the definition but aren't militia's generally under government control? Why would the government need to make it legal for them to own guns?

Noooo militia's are made of normal people, not soldiers. They are also self regulated. Often members of militia's are also in the organized military as well.
