So what's the best way to wrap your hands?

I've been hitting the bag and sparring without wraps since I can never get them on properly, I have to hold back so I don't injure my hands which gets pretty annoying.

When I do get them on properly they come off in the middle of training and I never know what to do with the wrap I have left after I completely covered my hands. Also should I do it in between my fingers or not?

Careful to not leave too much fabric between the knuckles, as this might spread your knuckles apart.

I sat down and played around for a few hours till I found a style that suited me. Basically around the wrist 4 times, then up around the knuckles 4 times, back down around the wrist twice, up through the middle and ring finger once then around the wrist again, around the thumb then finish off around the wrist.

edit: I'm 6'2 so my hands are fairly large compared to most peoples. I use 4m mexican style wraps. If I had them longer I'd like to go through each finger since I feel it adds more wrist support.

Also you need to wrap according to your hands structure and your gloves. Everyone's different, some have bad wrists or bad knuckles, brittle bones or poor circulation. If your gloves don't have adequate padding across the knuckles then adjust for it and use more of your wraps as a cushion or invest in some knuckle guards, or better gloves.

Yea the biggest problem are my wrists so I guess I'll put the emphasis on them

i started wrapping with 2 wraps on each hand. The first I use the ribbon method to lay a few layers of padding on the knuckles then through the fingers and around the knuckles. The second wrap i use to wrap the thumb and wrist pretty far down my forearm.

Is it overkill? Probably but I've hurt my hand more than once, so I'm no longer taking any chances.
