My fav fighter at LW.

Whats next for him?

He will fight the winner of Conor vs Khabib probably. The three of them are all great. If they don’t end up matching each other it would be a damn shame.

As much as I'm hesitant to say it, likely Khabib, for the FIFTH time.

Fight someone with no significant ranking, be fit healthy and look great in the fight, get an impressive victory. Then get singed to fight Khabib and get abducted by aliens 14 seconds before the fight..

I don’t see Conor accepting a fight with Khabib, so we probably get another try at Tony vs Khabib.

Get his leg fixed I assume. Then unify title. Thats what Dana said anyway.

“There’s no stripping. We’re not stripping Tony Ferguson. Tony Ferguson isn’t being stripped. The only person here who is losing a belt is Conor. Conor’s losing the belt, these two are fighting for the belt.

“The interim belt that he had, those two [Nurmagomedov and Ferguson] were supposed to fight — doesn’t happen. One of these guys will be the champion,” said White referring to Nurmagomedov and Holloway. “Tony is still the No. 1 contender.”

“It’s the last fight on earth that I want to make again. This will be five times — that’s insane — but obviously, however this thing plays out on Saturday, we’ll go from there. Tony is still the number one ranked guy in the world either way no matter who wins, so believe me I’ll deal with that when it’s time to deal with it,” he said.

I think that he is leaving his prime, horrible timing for this injury.

I think that the TF that beat RDA was the best version we will ever see.

I think that he has since deteriorated, and that culminated in his performance against Kevin Lee.

If he comes back in the next six months to a year, I see him having a back n forth fight with an elite LW.. maybe getting a shot, but he will never win a UFC title again.

Sad, i never liked him, but he worked so hard and to have his dream taken away like that must be crushing.

As much as I'm hesitant to say it, likely Khabib, for the FIFTH time.

There is no way to get rid of Tony/Khabib unless one of them loses. Khabib is 9-0 UFC, Tony is 10-0 in his last 10, there is no way to remedy this unless Dana talks Tony into jumping off a cliff and by jumping off a cliff I mean convinces Tony to take a fight against someone that is not for the title and then he loses. I suspect when Tony is healed he is going to be hell bent on a title shot.

I wonder if Tony will keep wearing his sunglasses indoors after this.

If I was Tony manager I would advise the following:

Tony has to do what Gaethje is doing and challenge the guys above him through the media.
At least he needs to put more pressure on Khabib and Conor.
Now is the perfect time since Gaethje already started.

He should try to go on air and share his side of the story:

He has many to choose from, only needs one or two max.
bispings, ariel, joe rogan, submission, Brendan shaub.... Take your pic theres tons of choose from.
Then he should tell his side of the story and that he's ok.
---> He needs to get off twitter, twitter is not enough, as he needs to be seen.
( In this he has to look clean and not crazy looool and quit with the champ shit)
(before this interview, his manager should drill him hard trying to gauge a response and try to correct his behaviour, loool)

Once he gets face on and clears the media that he's ok and somehow turns the story around.
Then he's in the picture.....

If he receives no response then he needs to start putting more pressure on UFC.
By starting converations with Bellator and ONE then going back to the UFC with the counter offers and demands.

Right now, UFC is pushing him around and treating him with lack of respect. Much like they did with Khabib.
Khabib turned it around by going to the media and contuining to take fights.

Its all probably too hard and he prefers to just posting random obscure tweets.
If he doesn't do anything he is in danger of becoming like Nate Diaz and not fighting for a while.

Tony needs to fight more often. He has only 4 fights since 2015. He should have accepted the fight with Max. He won’t get the next shot at Khabib and should get stopped in the rankings behind Dustin. He has only 2 current top 10 wins (8&10) where Khabib and Dustin have 2 top 5’s.

I hate saying this but I'd like to see him take his time until he's 100%, take a tune up, then worry about the bigger fights. We all want Tony vs. Khabib, but if we ever do get that fight I want both in good shape, physically and mentally.
