Isnt that what he always hung his hat on in the beginning? That he wouldn't make the same mistakes as boxing. Seems like he's becoming a boxing promoter to me. Don't get the result you want, book the rematches until you do.

Not only that but it's turning into a WWE style freak show. Guys running around fighting meaningless fights. They need to stick to the division / belt/ champion model. If a guy wants to go up in weight fine, but do it in a sensible, orderly fashion, vacate your belt and move on up. Also the rematch system doesn't make any sense, there's no system. The only system is if Dana likes you and you lose you get an immediate rematch. Meanwhile guys who've been working their way up are left out in the cold. I get going with the guy who's most flamboyant and a bigger draw, but I think in the long run its going to hurt the legitimacy of the sport, which is something the UFC had always longed for. All that's going to happen is guys will realize that the only way to get big fights or title shots is to make as big an ass of themselves as humanly possible, in front of as many people as possible. I get the concept of "fun fights" and believe there is a place for them, but ultimately the way things are going, it's going to erode the already fragile air of legitimacy the UFC has managed to build up to this point.
