I seriously doubt many guys bring up jerking off with their guy friends on a saturday night watching a ufc event.

What they will talk about is the hot chick they just saw on tv. This can lead to conversations such as, 'which ring girl is the hottest,' which can lead to conversations like, 'whos the hottest chick in the world' and 'who's the hottest chick of all time' and 'that one time there was that hot chick at that one place.'

These topics generally don't cross over into porn chicks as they tend to be of a different caliber.

At most their might be some allusions to porn, like for example, "I wish Ariany Celeste was my step-sister."

They are not just eye candy but serve as a focal point for conversation kind of the way they are right now in this thread. If the irony of that escapes you then, perhaps, you are hopeless.

And now we get to a time on which some "men" are complaining of the fact that we have ring girls and umbrella girls!!! It makes no sense whatsoever.

If those women are not being exploited, are not being denigrated and are getting paid, WTF is wrong with that!!!???

I'll be honest, i don't care much about them (as in being happy) at all.
It'd probably make the sport look more professional if they banned them.
Truth be told, IF they are here as "eye-candy" then there should probably be ring men too - for all the heterosexual ladies.

It'd certainly be funny to see some guys lose it if they introduced ring-guys, lmao.

But jokes aside, i think having ring girls (ring guys too, before you ask) is kinda stupid.

Last but not least:
"So you'd like them to lose their job?" is a terrible argument, as the same logic would mean we shouldn't be against child labour or prostitution.

-This post was more enjoyable to read than watching 20+ years of ring girls being cringe-inducingly superficial. The only reason I could possibly see supporting ring girls is to get some girls some jobs.

I completely ignore them. I'm not watching MMA to be half aroused by the between round phase of the fights. That and I don't watch live all that often so I skip forward during the breaks unless it's an interesting fight and they stay on broadcast in the corner during the rest period.
 
Oh, and on topic, the ring girls are super necessary.

The demographic for the UFC that dominates is the male ages like 12-50. Having sexy women doing walk-by's hurts nothing.
