The big defense for this Diaz/McGregor rematch is "big money" this "big money" that, as if sherdoggers are getting a cut of profit. Giving McGregor a rematch based on "business" is to underestimate and undermine the intelligence of an MMA fan. We all saw McGregor tap out the first time. He sells fights with his mouth, then his fist, he cant possibly sell a fight that he lost much better than he did prior to it. The UFC are no longer in the dark ages anymore, we dont need this Ortiz/Shamrock bullsh*t, plus McGregor has to be the most pampered fighter of all time. He claims hes gonna win all of these belts but wont even defend the one he has, this fight isnt a smart fight if they want to sell McGregor long term, mark my words for future shaming.

If a fight is 'big money' then it is necessarily 'big entertainment', particularly in a utilitarian sense. More entertainment = fans win. While I do think the champ should defend their belt at least once per year (rather arbitrary), I'm generally not in favor of forcing fights that fans don't want to see.
