What's the story here?

Was just looking at the fights tonight & stumbled on this guy.. He's 22-0, 18 TKOs, 1 SUB. Has anyone ever seen him fight? Is he a Renan Barao type talent or just some no-name beating up the Brazilian scene? Interesting to see...

He has Silva in his name, therefore he sucks.

- Shael P. Sonnen

I don't know anything about him, but he doesn't have a single good win on his resume, so the 22-0 isn't a trustworthy indicator. Although he does have a ton of finishes, so I'm interested to see what he's got.

How are we supposed to know? Tonight is his UFC debut..

'Renan Barao' was just a 'no-name beating up the Brazilian scene' until he was successful in the UFC.

He is a good fighter with great great power. He ha wins over "ok" guys in Brazil, but not the best competition. But he is fun to watch, has a hell of a chin, also.

He had a couple solid wins in WEC before he came over to the UFC, so we had a lot more to go on comparatively speaking. I remember telling one of my buddies about Barao being really impressive when he made his UFC debut. Can't really do that to the same extent in D'Silva's case.

The first and only thread I ever made was the day before Barao's WEC debut asking people about him. People said Barao was the real deal.

Felipe Froes and Deivison are 'good' wins.

That was a great fight - I did not expect Picket to get choked out like that

He'll come storming out and look impressive in the first round and then gas out and lose in the second. Hype Train Derailed.

Tukhugov, his opponent, is also a good prospect. He's only 23. Should be a good fight.

Is that a line from the Mars Volta as your 'location'? Frances the Mute? I've never read the lyrics and I rarely understand what he's saying.

Correct, I've had that there for years. Great album.
