In a planet with 7 billion people how can is there only 5 "good" heavyweight fighters????

Also why are half of these guys like 40 years old...where are all the 25 year old beasts?

1. DC --- OLD
2. Stipe
3. Dos Santos -- OLD
4. Ngannou
5. Blaydes
X. Lewis ... this is where the list ends because Lewis is not a good fighter, he has no skill and no gas tank

All the real A level big boys are playing A level sports

It's a good question. After Cain, Carwin, JDS etc entered the sport in '07 or so, why haven't more big strong athletic guys done so?

My guess is they looked at Carwin and said "fuck that life, not for that much money". Or Cain's eleventeen surgeries. Or JDS's face after Cain II & III. Or Mitrione's entire career, and career earnings.

Will more money bring more big fighters? I'm honestly not sure.

Cain Velasquez freaked out every big athletic guy when he beat the piss out of lesnar and made it look easy.

There are exactly a grand total of 40 HWs on the UFC roster and half of them are over the age of 34. Shits hilarious.

Those who cannot make elite sports cut down to 205 lbs or less as the LHW is not that good either.

DC is not old, Jones beat prime DC fair and square stop making excuses for him!

You forgot Overeem, but yeah, UFC really needs to scout HWs more. There are other good HWs out there but the UFC doesn't have many of the young ones.

GOAT is still #1.

It’s cuz a lot of the heavy weights nowadays are fat slobs who decide to pick up MMA. Don’t really take it all that serious and the ones that do have all the technique but zero fitness

I mean most the top 5 are in decent shape for heavyweights. Then you have your once in a while heavyweight like Ngannou who just walks right through the division with less than 5 years of fighting experience.

Volkov is legit he just got caught with a bad overhand and underestimated black beast to his demise. 8 times out of 10 Volkov beats Beast.

If you are that big and strong, with any kind of work ethic, you try to make more doing some other activity 99.999% of the time.

Heavyweight fighters have a really hard time finding good training partners. They are usually forced to train with smaller guys that they can easily overpower. Because of that HWs can't raise their skill level as high as the lighter weight classes. Without that elite technical ability HWs can't string together enough wins to achieve a cult following because most fans only like fighters that are on several fight win streaks.

This is a good answer

Well said

Truth is, there are just far less men that size.

The 'other sport' thing is a myth

In a sport where you win by knocking out your opponent, I'd say Derrick Lewis is pretty good

Stipe's older than Dos Santos is...
