There may not be any superstars to put on Canadian cards but there are still enough guys like Makdessi, Mitch Gagnon and Elias Theodorou to get the hometown pop. Plus we like fights, they always get a crowd regardless of who's punching whom.

You don't need Canadian fighters to sell tickets for fights in Canada. UFC 206 did good business and that was perceived to be a weak card with no big draws, Canadian or otherwise.

UFC left because the Canadian market is closer to Pro wrestling in it's ups and downs and Canadian interest dropped off at a much high percentage than the U.S. did. Don't get me wrong, MMA was hotter in Canada at it's peak but it's a country with a GDP and population less than California.
