If GSP had moved up 2 weight classes and fought a top 10 LHW, then lost, would it really mean that much? Obviously McGregor is not the untouchable force some people thought he was. But a loss at 170 lbs is really not that big an issue for a 145lb champ. If anything he should be applauded for his guts, even if it was foolish of him. There will never be anyone like McGregor again...GSP wouldnt even move up 7 lbs to fight Silva in a catchweight. Im just lost on why everyone thinks this loss is such a big deal.

dude did u see their match and how they physically looked ?? it wasn't like david vs goliath like all the whiny butthurt conor fans are makin it look like.

He move to his natural weightclass to fight 1 week Nate and got his ass kicked

/thread.

He definitely DOESN'T suck, by any means. He just got built up to ridiculous levels, just like R3, and got a little too overzealous / delusional buying into that hype train.

He's still a damn good fighter, and will likely still make a shit ton of noise in the lighter weight class.

they are both lightweights ya dummy

"not a big deal"

*cries all over keyboard while hitting F5*

This, verbatim.

Its so bizarre how much people hate someone who was bringing MMA to the next level. Anyone who respects him is a butthurt fan lol. You realize were not all little kids like you right. Theres a grey area.

Nate is a 155er who also "moved up a weight class" for this.

The weight, size, and energy were all pretty trivial.

Conor lost because he thought he could blow through Nate in one round, and chose his strikes accordingly.

Then late in r2 Nate was posting up on that front leg, which had taken very little damage. RDA and Bendo had him limping by then.

He didnt get his ass-kicked. But I guess if your some pissed off virgin, you can project onto him if you want. It was a fun fight, and it was close till Nate got him.

Because the illusion was shattered, it happens with great fighters all the time. Any time a dominate fighter's win streak gets stopped sherdog says they suck.

In a casual's eye ?????????????????????? Yup, I seen one casual strip his GOAT title from Conor and give it the Nate, I swear to god he did. Bad thing is Conor was never the GOAT so that casual was all mixed up

It was obvious Nate was the bigger fighter. Nate fought at ww several times but couldnt be consistent so he moves back down. WW is where he wants to be if he could find some momentum. But obviously you are another angry moron.

Yeah Conor doesnt suck

He is just not Super Goat of all Goats

He doesn't suck and never did .. he just isn't on the level allot put him at. He is a great self promoter and people ate up his BS and asked for more. Even in his loss to a unprepared mid pack LW people are asking for more. He didn't move up and fought a WW he fought an out of shape LW at WW who had 10 days notice to prepare for him. This was suppose to be a showcase fight for Conor that lead into a big fight at UFC 200.

This exactly.

I love what he has been doing for the sport. The UFC needs more people like him. Charisma is something a lot of these guys don't have and it keeps the sport out of the general publics eye. Conor has it and on top of that he's a helluva fighter. I love Nate (although strangely don't care much for Nick), but Nate doesn't have the personality to sell fights. Don't even get me started on someone like Frankie Edgar or Mighty Mouse.

People need to stop comparing him to Rousey.
Rousey got KTFO by a fighter ranked #7 in her own division. She never stepped up or ever took a risk on anything.

Start making Ronda comparisons when Conor gets rekt by Cub,Lentz or Lamas.

Yup, If your an MMA fan, you want McGregor to win. He really was doing the sport a service. He obviously was getting ot much hype but that was bringing in so many new fans it was worth it.

LOL @ this "two weight classes" shit. He didn't fight a legit WW. Nate is a 155er who was carrying a bunch of excess fat and water because he was between camps.

...and while he certainly doesn't "suck," it's been proven that he's not anywhere near the "three division threat" at present that he and his fans were claiming that he was.

Given the level of hyperbole that was floating around just 24 hours ago, people are going to have opinions on the subject. If you don't like it, you should take a break from the MMA-related parts of the internet for the next few weeks.
