So much bitching about Jones.............. Why?

Not the point. I think you have to be a complete ''wanker'' to kick someone who's already down on a bloody MMA forum. Someone who has been this good to the sport. Enough people on television/real life I don't like. Would I wish something like this on them so I can put them down? Hell no. If you're a fan you would hope he leaves it in the cage. Any arguments being used beyond that are just weak in my opinion and sort of shows what type of ''rats'' that tend to visit this site. Can't say I'm surprised. But damn, the MMA fan-community sucks.

Kicking someone while they are down like "I hope he is crying somewhere," like that? How are you going to condone that, "the pressure?"

And sorry, I am not buying that Jones is in therapy somewhere earnestly trying to understand his psychological issues that lead him to use cocaine and alcohol, and that he is going to apply what he learns in a mindfulness based stress reduction program on Saturday nights to avoid drinking and drugging in the future.

But people loved Tito Ortiz' arrogance. How many people loved this shit . . . ?

Jones hasn't done anything halfway bad as that, but he gets all the shit. Ortiz . . . still loved by many.
I don't like Tito. but he never acted like a nice guy when in reality he was
A drunk driving, dirty fighting, drug using, test rigging hypocrite.

Jones is just not a likeable guy and simultaneously destroys people's heroes on the regular so it's really not any sort of mystery why people bitch about it.

Because he's too athletic and explosive...

This is one of the main reasons why during the peak of his career, Michael Jordan's sponsor(s) / agent(s) advised him to act and talk less athletic and explosive...

Sigh, it isn't racism. When people say that in these types of situations, it causes people to react incredulously to that term in situations where that really is the case and important things are at stake.

Racism isn't why people didn't like Jones, and him having caught with cocaine metabolites in his system isn't surprising to the people who have disliked him for being a holier than thou phony. Generally, people don't like people who are dishonest, and the more emotionally intelligent and street smart fans knew Jones was putting on a show, and didn't trust him and disliked him because of it. Calling it racism is looking for a simple answer, and speaks to the accusers' confirmation bias and lack of understanding of the world.

Doesn't change the fact that many complain about Jones' arrogance, but love Tito Ortiz' arrogance.

More to your point, how many people love Rampage despite his crazed driving incident?

How many people love Sonnen despite his TRT use?

More people loved Randy, who spanked Tito, and even more than that loved Chuck, who assaulted Tito with one of the most vicious barrages of punches in UFC history.

DUI, Liar, Eye Pokes, Cheat, Crack/Cocaine, Illegitimate Child, Snitch, No sportsmanship, and it goes on and on, add to that he's awkward as hell and he pretend he's a great human being and you get the picture ;)

Someone could make a thread chronicling his ignorance but it would be deleted under the guise that it's fighter bashing. Though if you ask Luke Thomas, it's racism :D

Hey TS and Jones fans, where were you when Diaz tested positive for pot of all things? Did you come and try to tell Sherdog how immature they were ragging on him for smoking pot? Oh, wait, he didn't check into rehab. You know this is the way things go right? Check into rehab, say you have a problem and all is forgiven. Just like going to confession. Now you're free and clear and everyone forgives you. It's ridiculous.

If Jones wasn't so arrogant, if he didn't have a holier than thou attitude, if he didn't walk the line of the rules in his fights, maybe people would be more open to giving him a pass. IMO, he brought it on himself by being one one of the most two faced and fake people I've ever seen in MMA, and I've been watching for a long fucking time. I don't think dude has a drug problem, he just thought he was invincible and could do whatever the hell he wants because he's above everyone and everything.

I don't like Jon, haven't since just before the DUI. I wish him well. My hate if you want to call it that regarding this is that like everything else with Jon , I don't get a feeling of authenticity here. When it was announced, the transparent statement and into some type of rehab, the UFC is acting like this is a high point of Jon's career giving him as much praise as they do after a title defense, the fact that there appears to be no concern at all that Jon may need to step away from the sport at all to deal with this. It's all just very fake to me. Another appearances move by the champ and the UFC when it comes to Jon. I have some experience working with people with substance abuse issues and this feels at the onset like what will be the first for Jon, not the last.

I grew up idolize get Doc and Darryl Strawberry whose cocaine slide from HOF players to punchlines is well documented. So far, this Bones script is looking very similar.

But like Sonnen...lulz

I would feel bad for Jones' affliction if he was diagnosed with some sort of life threatening disease; he would be a hero in that case.

But this is a case of a young millionaire making bad decisions; driving under the influence, doing cocaine, being investigated for perjury, now under suspicion of PED abuse.

The tragedy is he might be the most gifted fighter we have ever seen in MMA, and I mean that.

But behind the fighter is a person.
And that person could be a serious risk to themselves and to their family's well being.

I hope he turns out okay.

He gets bashed because he's a hypocrite and he's an arrogant guy that has beaten a lot of people's favorite fighter.

When you laugh about snitching on kids in school over drugs, talk about how the UFC never has to worry about him getting caught drunk driving or doing anything bad and being highly outspoken against TRT and then you get popped for both a DWI and cocaine, people are going to talk about it.

If Jim Morrison said he was straight edge and would never touch a drug all while criticizing everyone that does and then got popped with something, people would talk just the same.

No one likes a hypocrite.

He didnt cheat. He dealt with lifes pressures the wrong way...We forgave so many other athletes with the same problem. I forgive him the same way I did LT, the 86 Mets, Steve Howe, Diaz Bros, Riddle etc. He didnt hit his wife or kids. He didnt assault a pornstar.

I don't think the cocaine is the problem.

It's the three consistently and unusually low t/e ratios that turned up.

I am not one for conspiracy theories, but UFC and NSAC seem to be in cahoots on this to hide the truth here.

Not saying everyone who hates Jones simply of his level of athleticism and explosiveness, but it'd be naive to think this is not one of the main reasons why a lot of people hate him.

I have seen many people claimed they hate Jones because of his cockiness. Brock is cocky and he has tons of fans. Brock has a lot of people who hates him, too, but mainly because of his link to fake wrestling than it is due to being "cocky."

I have also seen many people claim they hate Jones because of his "criminal behavior" (DUI). Alexander Gustafsson was charged with assault twice, and people on here were quick to jump to his defense, saying things such as, "he's learned his lesson and is a changed person."

Not sure where you live, but where I'm from, racism exists on many different levels. It's not KKK type of racism, but it's more of a prejudice and bias based on race. I know people from work who would support foreign athletes over American athletes simply because they have similar skin color... One person from my work place was rooting for Fedor over Brett Rogers, even though that was the first time he ever saw them and knew Fedor is Russian while Rogers is American.

For me it's not so much jon jones it's more the UFC. It's how nothing at all will be done. I'm sure cocaine use falls under the fighter conduct policy and he'll get a pass that's what irks me

Jones has gone out of his way to tell everybody what a great guy he is, proudly proclaiming how he snitched out weed smokers and how he would never get caught DUIing like "others". He has made it a habit to speak about how much better he is than bad eggs, such as myself, and now it turns out that he's an egg as bad as they come.

Of course he's gonna hear about it. He's not a victim, he's a hypocritical asshole who finally get's a piece of the cake that he's been serving others.

When you're as popular and talented as he is there will always be those that dislike him. It tends to happen with with most famous people, whether it's the personality or other personal reasons.
