I've always questioned situations like this. If a fighter gets cut for losing, doesn't that indirectly discredit the win of the other guy? To a knowledgeable fan the win over Okami was a big deal for Souza, but the way it's playing out he basically beat a guy that isn't good enough to even be in the UFC. Following that logic Jacare's win shouldn't get him any closer to a title shot, and should give him minimal praise. I hope that Dana gives little to no credit to Jacare in defeating a UFC outcast like Okami I just don't understand the logic in releasing a gatekeeper, as Dana labeled him. A gatekeeper is a good thing. Any win over Okami can be seen as a solid indicator of a title contender.
