So in the GOAT discussion is it fair to say Jones=PBF and Fedor=Ali???

Think about it... like Money Mayweather, Jones has tons of skill and talent yet only does enough to get by. Also seems to be helped by the fact that he peaked at the right time... ie when DLH was on his way out, Mosley was older, Cotto had been in some wars, and fought Pacman too late.

Fedor could compare to Ali as in he was the best Heavyweight at the time when it was the most stacked and respected division in the sport, the bulk of his lossed are in the twilight of his career, and just had the aura of something great when he fought.

In this sport:

JBJ like PBF = the greatest of a generation

Fedor like Ali = the greatest of all time

What say you? Sound off Sherbros!

That analysis of Jones was pure crap.

butthurt manny fan

What are you talking about? Im a huge Floyd supporter, I think he was the only boxer who just about singlehandedly carried the sport on his back these past few years. Boxing is back to relevance and a big part of that is due to Floyd.

I challenge you to search my post history, you wont find many if anything thats not supportive of Money Mayweather. Also been watching MMA for a good while, been following boxing even longer.

Are you perhaps a disgruntled Jones fan?

I don't see Jones as a guy who just likes to get by. He often beats people at their own game.

Fedor is Ali, Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan...all those things to mma. The great one. Even if you're better than him you'll never be better than him.

I don't think Ali was ever knocked out by a middleweight though. I really just don't think Fedor measures up to Ali to be honest. Ali was in wars with monsters and all time greats. Fedor fought Zulu, Hong Man Choi and got worked by Arona. Jones and Mayweather aren't good comparisons either but atleast there is a more compelling argument of natural talents, they don't fight the same relatively though. Mayweather never changes his game plan, he is a master class level that makes people fight his fight. Jones in a different way almost changes every fight and tries to beat you at something you do well or do some crazy chit you never expect.

No. I hate Jones, but he finishes fights and actually puts some serious damage on his opponents. PBF is the most successful point fighter of all time OF ALL TIME!!!

No I think that analogy or compairison is completely off. 1st no mma fighter equals Floyd Mayweather. 2nd to say Bones does just enough to get by is also wrong. If thats true what did GSP do?

Those were awful comparisons.

People need to stop comparing MMA fighters to the status of boxers. It's literally pointless.

Hands down Jones is Jack Johnson.
