So I run an Air BNB on the side:

If you look hard enough you’ll probably find some coke lying around.

That’ll ease your pain and make up for some of the damages. Oh yeah, and keep the $400.

That's what the deposit is for. He knows his daughter wrecked the place so I'm sure he doesn't expect to get his deposit back.

It was probably worth it to him to not have to host the party at his house

This middle aged white guy named James asked to book my condo last night. He said it would be him and his wife. I said yea, amazing, approved the request.

I live in east Toronto, the BNB is downtown.

At midnight i got a call from Condo security saying there was teenage girls in the lobby drunk and beating each other up and they were calling the cops and they were all headed to my unit.

I said holy shit and started to drive over there but condo security called back and said the aggressive girls had left and they told the cops not to come.

I went back home.

I messaged James and asked him what’s going on. He told me the truth that he booked the place for his daughters birthday party. It’s all documented on the Air BNB app.

I came in This morning and it was trashed. Liquor bottles all over the floor, weed roaches everywhere. The remote control was stolen. There was vomit and blood in the bathtub.

It was bad I had to cancel my guest tonight to put it in order and I lost $165 bucks.

James put down a damage deposit for $400.

Should I send the pictures to air BNB and ask for $250 or something?

I don’t want to come off like a joyless adult who never has fun. But he did lie to me and I lost money.

Is there a loss of use clause in the agreement that the guests sign?

youd be an idiot to not keep that $400

have fun trying to remove the weed smell

Any used kongdoms laying around, TS? Magnums?

no to be honest it looks like only girls were there.

Im finding girl stuff like clips and makeup.

no rubbers or hats or doo rags and no reports of guys fighting or beating each other up.

Security said it was just “teenage” girls coming upstairs, but I Think more likely they were in their early 20s from how much liquor bottles there were.

Me and 6 other guys couldn’t put away that much liquor.

This is why I prefer to have investments that are not tangible. I would 100% recoup what I lost plus what ever your time is worth from the deposit.

Def keep the 400, I’m assuming you have the whole placed covered with video and audio equipment to fully extract the value on the table here so release some of the best bits to a porn site as to besmirch James for his deception

Lol at Doo rags.

You're just salty you didn't set up the cameras and hide in the attic. He was right not to tell you about the teenage girls.

Wont pretend it didn’t cross my perv mind.

Also there’s no attic. It’s a one bedroom condo. I sound poor.

Stories like this are why I'm glad the community we live in doesn't allow homeowners to rent out their properties.

When my father-in-law died back in May he left my wife his house across from ours & we had the idea of renting it out because we could have made bank doing so because rentals in Sedona are almost impossible to find. But then we found out that community management doesn't allow it. So, now we're just selling the place.

At first, we were disappointed but now I'm relieved because I wouldn't want to have to deal with nonsense like this. We've got another rental property that we inherited in Bullhead City but that's different because the people there are long-term tenants that have been there for over a decade or more. The only time we hear from them is when they deposit their rent check into our account. Those are the only kind of renters that I want to deal with.

And I agree with everyone else. By all means, keep the entire deposit. If they left the place in that kind of shape then they're not expected a penny of it back.

You sound like you live in a really nice area.

I want to get out of Toronto someday when my kid is older. He's about 11.
