So I'm super stingy and I decided to roll all of my coins meticulously instead of taking them to the coin machines that charge you a fee for them.

I was also saving 1 dollar bills. And was going to get those bundle things or whatever and wrap them.

But if i just throw everything into a bag and drop it off at my bank, will they count it for free? Id like to know because this is taking a long time.

Coinstar machines don't charge a fee if you're willing to take it in Amazon gift cards instead of cash. If you shop on Amazon anyway it's an easy workaround.

They'll usually count it for you at the bank. Even if you roll it on your own, they'll break them open to put them in the machine.

Most banks charge a fee, or give you shit about depositing lots of coins or singles. My credit union was pretty cool about it, then got a Coinstar machine. Assholes. I just overload the coin slots when I do self checkout.

Yeah that's not gonna happen. I want cash.

So how do I keep 100% of the money? Take it to different stores or banks in smaller amounts?

I never have loose change or singles anymore because I use my debit & credit cards for all my bill paying & purchasing. I can't remember the last time that I used cash. I think it's going on two years.

I have a credit union and they don't have a fee for using their machine if you're a member. I keep my spare change in a hat and when it gets full, I take it to the credit union and dump it in the coin machine, then deposit it in my savings.

So what happened to all the loose cash and change you used to have?

Shop around for a credit union and join it. There's another Credit Union I'm a member of, that does coins for free, but I don't feel like driving 45 minutes to get to it.
