Whenever I see an Alistair Overeem in MMA topic, people always seem to disregard the K-1 championship title.

The thought process is that K-1 striking may not completely correlate to MMA.

Of course, the two big differences are the smaller gloves and the threat of a takedown. In the UFC's case, the other difference is the Octagon.

But anyway, my question is this... do you really think championships in K-1/pro boxing translate well to MMA?

As a grappler, people ask if ADCC/Mundials championships translate to MMA. My answer is normally that it depends on the style of grappler. Certain grapplers who have a slick no-gi game, solid takedowns, good in scrambles, can sweep off their back, and are good finishers can translate well to MMA. Other grapplers probably don't.

Can I expect a similar answer for striking? And what attributes in K-1 striking and professional boxing translate well to MMA?

Rampage seems to do well.

I like they way he moves though, seems to be a lot slicker at moving back and forth than a typical boxer.

Depends on the fighter. Obviously not every K1 fighter/Pro Boxer can make the transition, but alot of them can. It all depends on well they adapt and how good their grappling skills become.

It's the same thing with grappling. Not every ADCC prodigy is gonna become an MMA star but many of them can.
