So if moving up doesn't make you a goat then you should be crying to the ufc about conor, with zero title defenses then him moving up and becoming a two division champion is the only valid reason he could be considered in the top ranks of the ufc's goat list.

no, tyron has 4 title defenses, thompson twice, maia, and till. the draw with thompson is still a title defense. However i see how some fans don't count the draw because its not a win and I agree with that. In my opinion the title defenses that count are only the consecutive wins....so even though he kept his belt with the draw against thompson he didn't win the fight. Technically he needs two more wins in a row to match hughes record.

4 title defense? Sorry, he's not the 2nd greatest WW yet when you consider Hughes ruled the division for 4 years, losing once in that 4 year span. Hughes would also defeat the only man who defeated during his rule at 170 in BJ Penn in 2006.

Give Woodley another two years and if he can keep the title for two years, he is definitely pass Hughes and at GSP's doorstep, if not past it if he can keep winning.

Woodley has 4 title defenses. 3 of them were decisions, one was a draw. Hughes had 2 title reigns and 7 total title defenses. Six of his seven defenses were finishes. Plus he finished Royce Gracie and Joe Riggs during that run. Riggs missed weight, or that would be an 8th title defense. Gracie was at 175. Which title run sounds more impressive???
