"At the end of the day, who knows if he comes back to 145? Honestly, my feeling, I don't think that he does," Holloway told MMA Fighting. "I think that 155-pound fight (against dos Anjos) was already saying that he just wanted to be at 155, hold the two titles, say that he did it, then just move up full-time. That's what I thought he was thinking of doing, because he's a big guy. All you hear of him is struggling to make 145. This guy struggles. You see, all he does is [cut weight] all week long.

"So he was going to go up sooner or later. Then you see him getting bigger every fight. ... His last fight, he was a big boy. And he already had a hard time cutting. [With him] going back up to 170, I think he's going to gain weight and have to cut a little, just trying to compete at that level, at 170. So who knows if he's coming down?"

"I don't know. I don't think so," Edgar said about McGregor returning to featherweight. "I don't know if a win will make him come back, maybe a loss he'd have to come back. Two losses in a row that's supposedly up two weight classes -- it's 155-pounders not wanting to cut weight is what it really is. He'll lose a lot of that value I think.

"The more losses you tack on -- you're going to have a champion come back after a two-loss stint up a weight class? It just doesn't all add up to me."

If he gets starched by Diaz again, he might not have a choice. That's the only place he's got a claim to relevancy and he can abuse his physical advantages and not rely on the whole skillset package.

If he beats Diaz, you're probably right, for the time being.

there are some interesting fights for him at 155 (not Nate Diaz who is a nightmare match up and honestly not a typical LWer)

He should keep cutting to 145 until he physically can't do it anymore. Cutting weight to fight in the smallest division you fit in is honestly what all MMA fighters do and it's what gives Conor his biggest advantage in 145

He's not going to beat the elite grapplers in that division either. At least I don't see it.

Of course, its obvious. He cant make the cut anymore

Should have added that he's also a chicken and doesn't want to lose to someone like Edgar

I don't know... Maybe he'll try but not make weight. Oh buoy the backlash...lol.

I voted that he will defend the belt again, regardless of what Dana says.

Conor can do anything he wants at this point in his career. It's evident he isn't ducking anyone since he took a short notice fight at 170. Anyone who says Conor is afraid of Frankie, Aldo or Max at FW is utterly delusional. Conor can still make the FW cut but he is a natural LW.

I don't think he makes it. They can use him never losing the fw crown for hype. "Look, this kid never even lost the fw belt. He wants to fight up. Unbelievable spirit"

I voted "Yes he'll be back at 145" - because Diaz will fuck his world up and he'll HAVE to go back down this time.

Theyre already milking him moving up 2 weight classes to fight WW staple Nate lol

Conor's exact words before becoming champion "I will obliterate the FEDDERWEIGHT DIVISION".

it's true, it's true.

People who use terms like "afraid," "lucky," or any of the other idiotic, small minded summations to define events in fights at this level (or frankly any level) are morons.

I voted of course not.
But come to think of it: coke is one hell of a drug....

I don't care what they think. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
What makes their's more valuable than yours?

If they could predict the future, they would have won the lottery by now.
