Who's pocket do you think that is coming out of? PPV's will more than likely get more expensive because management doesn't just give out more money without getting more in. I agree that yes fighters should be paid more but are you willing to pay more for PPV's?

fighters are being paid 13% of what the UFC makes apparently, so no one has to pay an extra dime for that. fighters should get together, get their union going and start pressuring the fuck out of their bosses for better pay.

I care as much about what they make as they care about what I make

Most of UFC's expenses are marketing and setting up venues I would imagine. Fighter pay shouldn't be that high on their expenses list when you consider how much they have to spend per event

unless fighters get together and start demanding shit properly, then the UFC will just have to cut on their winnings for it...

I forgot, they got rich by giving away more money and not asking for more. If you ran a business instead of punched a clock I wouldn't have to explain the obvious to you.

Once a week (on pay day) they should just get everyone from their respective weight class together in an octagon and make it rain for their pay.

The fighters brawling it out for pay with solve both the fair-pay issue as well as fighters pulling out of scheduled fights.

Now I'm a reasonable man, so if during the combat a fighter is thrown out of the Octagon, he/she will be allowed to reenter the octagon.

Well said. It's almost like they want their business to grow!

since we're saying they get 13%, what do you think is a "fair" percentage, and please give explicit justification. Also explain why they deserve more money as a whole, please.

they deserve what they get. I'm saying what their path should be to make more than peanuts.

Describe what is "more than peanuts" relative to the percentage of the UFC's expenses. After all, you seemed to like the 13% figure.

Fighters can get more pay. You go in, win fights, be exciting, learn to do great PR, and you make better pay. It's called Capitalism

A fighter's worth is in direct correlation to what can be negotiated and what an organization is willing to pay. Some of these fighters are so desperate to be in the UFC, they don’t understand how detrimental a six fight deal at 10k/10k is. They are deluded and naïve enough to believe they will be “taken care of.”

I'll tell you this: being a fighter is a dumb career choice. you're either delusional, piss poor or already an athlete who is transitioning to MMA. almost every fighter is delusional, poor or both. any decent enough athlete who understand their choices is not gonna pick mixed martial arts over other career choices that treat you far better.

fighter pay is shit. guys who work their asses off making 20k to show 20k to win and fighting 2-3 times an year just will not make ends meet like that. with all the shit they have to pay for, which often includes medical bills and fighting camp, on top of taxes, fighters are making nothing here. I have employees who make more than UFC fighters with more stability. these kids don't know what they're getting into and it's getting worse. the reebok deal further screwed up their spot. and they don't even have an union to defend their interests.

you want me to guess a number like an idiot, but I'm not an idiot.

Wow, you can really tell who the noobs are around here.

Fighters either need to band together and negotiate or accept the status quo. I don't get why so many fans think the onus is on the UFC to pay these fighters more on top of what they already negotiated.

It should be closer to 50/50 like in other sports with unions and bargaining agreements.

The NBA pays the players 50% of all commissions and still make huge profits. The UFC (which is worth more than every NBA franchise besides a couple) only pays 13%... Thats some bullshit. And they also took away the fighters main source of revenue, their sponsorships with most guys making more off those than actually fighting.
