For those of you who don't know, this thread is kind of a sequel to a thread I made about a month ago titled
"So...does anyone think that Cruz has a chance against Cejudo"?

My prediction was ultimately proven right, although Cruz did way better than I thought he would. With that being said, lets see if my gut feelings are correct about this one shall we?
Does anyone really think that Felicia Spencer has any chance of beating Amanda Nunes?
I mean I know Felicia has a good ground game and a solid chin, but Amanda has arguably faced better grapplers than Felicia (Tate, Rousey, Budd, McMann, Zingano, Baszler) and she unquestionably fought better strikers than Spencer (Cyborg, Shevchenko, Holm, de Randamie, in fact Cyborg and Shevchenko could probably full under that grappling category as well) I just don't see what Spencer brings to the table that Nunes hasn't already fought/beat a superior version of.
And while Spencer might have a good chin, I doubt that will help much if she is getting punched in the face hundreds of times. Especially if she is getting hit by someone with the power and speed of Nunes. I think the fight will go a lot like the Nunes vs Pennington fight where Nunes dominates the majority of the fight, then finishes Spencer in the 4th or 5th round.
Also this is kind of MMA math logic here, but it's hard to believe that the woman who got dominated by Cyborg for 3 rounds can beat the woman who finished Cyborg in 1 round.
What do you think Sherdoggers? Do you think I'm right? Or am I full of shit? Discuss.

Spencer is a much bigger underdog than anyone in the Cruz/Cejudo fight.

Anyway, I absolutely believe Spencer will lose, but I have a hard time evaluating her. Her UFC wins are against atrocious competition, but her only loss is against a legend. So where does she truly stands in the middle of this?

Spencer definitely has a chance, and I will be rooting for her.

True, it's hard to imagine Spencer having a chance in this fight. But anything is possible I guess.
Spencer isn't a bad fighter, but I just don't think she is on the same level as the elites like Cyborg and Nunes.

You have to remember that Amanda will be fighting on her 32nd birthday. Cyborg lost her first fight after she turned 32. Joanna started losing when she hit 30.

Thirty-two is pretty old for WMMA. It's not really a matter of who can beat Nunes; it's a matter of who just happens to be fighting her on the night when we realize that she has declined. Also remember that Nunes was hurt early in her last fight. So who knows.

Absolutely...

I believe Felicia has a better ground game. And the fact she was not put away by Cyborg over 3 rounds. And by Cyborg’s own admission was the first woman to cut her up.

I give Fee about a 35% chance.

But, if everything aligns, she’s got an 80% chance of pulling this off.

War Spencer!

All crow and apologies will be accepted upon the defeat of the GOAT.

No.

I don't think Spencer has much of a chance. Her standup isn't good enough. I thought GDR had a good chance but she couldn't stay on her feet. Her standup is very good. To answer your question I think you are right but also full of shit.

Well in the case you should put some money on her, you will be rich if Spencer wins.
There is a big difference between rooting for her and thinking that she will win.

I mean, I expect Nunes to beat the absolute shit out of her, but unlike most people I won't be shocked if she pulls off the upset.

Spencer is actually really fucking good.

Spencer is going to win it for the Great White North!

But Cyborg and Joanna arguably lost to much stronger competition than Spencer. (Joanna lost to Rose, and Cyborg lost to Nunes) GDR has a lot power and she is probably the best striker in WMMA. If she didn't have a trash ground game she would probably be the best pound for pound women's fighter in the world. So I don't think it's really fair to compare Spencer to her.
Nunes might very lose at some point, but I just don't see it happening this June.
