So, Derrick Lewis' back just magically got better?

What we saw in that fight was 2 fighters being tentative of a large explosive opponent.
Man U could've read their faces no one wanted to be that ko highlight reel Lewis uses instagram a lot so that made it worse image hopping on instagram first thing u see and people tagging u in is u getting knocked out

What TS is talking about in the OP is mostly just not understanding how chronic back pain works.

Chronic back pain can be better or worse on any given day... You just learn to live with it as best you can. Sometimes it can be tweeked & feel cramped up for a week or more. Other times it's fine & you kind of forget about it. I'm not sure if there are steps he can take to ensure his pain doesn't flair up on fight night, but getting into a regular stretching routine would be top priority... & then taking it extra easy during fight week. Perhaps Rolfing, or any kind of deep massage, & chiropractic could help.

My dad once threw his back out by twisting his body to look behind him with feet faced forward... & while in that position... he coughed. The cough in that position was an energy that pushed an all ready tight back out of whack. Fooked him up for a week. So silly little stuff like that can be the difference between feeling good or being in pain.

Beast needs to be careful though how much he reveals about it if he wants to keep fighting. I imagine there are commissions out there right now wary about him fighting in their local with a chronic back condition that's so severe it effected his performance in a fight.

Not really, you can literally see him start to stand up completely straight and stop and kind of twisting in the middle of fights
And I bet if you were his height and weight, you would be twisting in the middle everytime you walked across the house to grab another beer!

that has anything to do with double blind placebo tests? if you have to ask...perhaps you should figure it out yourself
i just wanted to see if you're a flatearther aswell, since you're antivaccines

Turns out he just had to take a huge shit.

Or maybe having a hurt back during the NG fight was just an excuse as to why he performed so badly. He didn't want to get hit by Francis. It's that simple. That's why he fought that way. He was concerned with the counters. He knew he was going to fight that way.

His back is I'm sure still fucked but he's close to a title fight so you push on.

That's how it works, Sherbro. Backs just magically get better.

Back Pain is the number one for insurance scammers and that scrub at your job who always goes sick when the big customer audit is on.
You just can't prove whether it's there or not
True but it also sucks ass when you really do have back problems.

Op clearly has never experienced back problems, but has experienced butthurt problems.

It's easy to question and doubt when you've never had the problem, but it's hell when it's happening to you.

A couple of years ago my back pretty much up and quit on me. It would take me 10 minutes to make my way out of bed in the morning, another hour to straighten out, and then I would not dare sit down all day because if I did I'd need to go through the whole process at once.

Saw a specialist who sent me for every test imaginable. X-Ray, CAT scan, MRI, you name it. Didn't find anything.

I ran my own business at the time, so I certainly wasn't looking for time off, and I didn't take any.

I don't touch painkillers or anti-inflammatories. Doctor tried to push them on me, but I refused.

Through my own research I figured that I was having SI joint pain or Piriformis Syndrome or both.

I started doing a few stretches that I saw online. More importantly, I stopped moving around in the careful way that a person moves when they have back pain and fear throwing their back out completely. This is what causes spasms, and if you don't have a back that is about to give out but have Piriformis, which is essentially a spasm problem to begin with, then walking around like that compounds the issue and prolongs and multiplies it.

This worked for me, but I acknowledge that I self-diagnosed and may not know what in hell I'm talking about. It's also very possible that it was another undiagnosed condition that simply cleared up on its own around the time I started trying to self remedy.

In any case, it was no joke. Just because the doctors can't figure it out doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I hear you. My wife doesn't understand it. When I throw out my back, I literally cannot get out of bed. My muscle spasms smacks against the nerve and I lose my strength. Pain throughout my body. And she knows I have a few herniated disks.

I'm on limited duty for it as I type this. Fucking hell.

I've seen every derrick lewis fight, he doesn't care about getting hit, it's definetly his back. Once his back starts giving him problems all he'll do is kick, thats how u know what's going on

I thought he was going to be out a solid 9 months. As someone who has back problems myself and had surgery it's a slow process to heal a back.

He has back spasms that have plagued him for years. His excuse for lack of activity was the spasms were acting up after the fight started. An excuse he’s used before. The guy will never be a champion but a good personality goes a long way

They have muscle relaxers that help against this. One of my doctors just prescribed to me that don't have the sleepiness that drugs like flexiril have, but who knows what USADA allows and doesn't allow. I forgot what it's called because it's a new drug and my insurance doesn't cover it and it's very expensive. So I went back to flexiril. But back spasms are an easy fix.

He's had a weak back for about a week back...

Yeah I don't get it. He talks about taking time off to rest his back but then is back in a fight shortly later.

I'm not sure if there are any procedures that would help. He said the magnesium shots were helping but apparently not that well. He only said his doctor told him to stretch more and lose 20-25 pounds.

I would have liked to see him take 8+ months off and lose some weight. Heck he could take even more time off. In HW age, he's basically the age of Erick Silva. Otherwise I feel like the same thing will keep happening. He'll have a bad performance and blame it on his back during training or the fight (though I do believe it does have something to do with that).

As a person with a back, I understand his problebs

You cannot take muscle relaxers right before you fight what a ridiculous thing to suggest

He got a backiotomy
