So can a female fighter beat an A-Level female athlete?

?

A lot of people think martial arts is magic.

In another thread, they say that Conor McGregor can beat a pro wrestler who outweighs him by 100 pounds. 100 in-shape pounds. Granted Conor would have a better chance than an average Joe but c'mon!

So can Joanna beat Serena?
Gl beating usada, but yeah Joanna murders her. Look how shit trained female fighters are...imagine the untrained..

Serena might have shit punching mechanics. As someone else mentioned, look at the Gabi Garcia fight. If JoJed was a little smart, she would weather the storm, Serena would flail her powerful body around, gas and JoJed would make her quit.

What kind of dumbass question is this. OF COURSE. This is not even a debate. Does Serena get to fight with a tennis racket or something? What am I missing?

Poor attempt at replicating an existing thread by switching some names around.

After UFC 1 why is this even a question? We've learned that size, even in athletic people, doesn't mean crap in the world of fighting.

That's why there are no weight classes, and no pro fighters work out.

I see your join date is 2015. Look up Roger Huerta vs Football player to answer your stupid Connor vs WWE guy question. Muscles do not = fighting ability until it's like 150+ pounds. Connor would get destroyed by the Mountain, but he'd do fine against anyone in the WWE who doesn't have ncaa/judo/bjj experience.

Ok, I'll bite.

Any of you guys actually train? I've seen fit strong rugby league players come to train BJJ and find that their fitness does not work for long in grappling. I imagine it would be similar for boxing/kick-boxing.

I've also seen Gabi Garcia's first couple of MMA fights. No matter how strong and fit you are - for tennis or other track and field sports - getting punched in the face quickly turns a fit strong athlete into a complete newbie.
Yep.
Whenever this question comes up people seem to only think about the bigger person's offense, but it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Untrained people are not used to getting hit. They will panic when they get touched.
A real fight isn't like the movies. An untrained guy or girl is not going to be taking and dishing out punches to the face for 5 minutes. All it takes is one clean shot to the nose or organ to disrupt a bigger, untrained person..leaves them vulnerable to then get picked apart.
A bigger person does have a chance at KOing a smaller pro due to their size advantage, but that's if the pro was reckless and tried to match their strength with the bigger guy.

You're not taking in to account that Serena doesn't get punched in the face nor does she know how to control distance.
I'll go with the trained fighter over the girl who plays tennis.

"can a tennis player with zero combat experience beat a professional cage fighter" good question

Weight definitely matters when both people are trained martial artists. Still, training > size

Her left leg maybe.

Serena's probably as strong as the infamous 'average man'.

Don't say that. The ave Sherdoggers won't take kindly to you insinuating she is stronger than them.

Serena, despite her size and explosiveness, wouldn't stand a chance against even the lowest rank 115 fighter.

UFC 1 says absolutely nothing about this here at all and it says nothing about 115 lbs women against anybody.
We saw an average sized male grappler (he was 6'1, 180) who beat bigger men with being one of the best jiu-jitsu fighters in the world at this point, not only a 'regular black belt' but somebody who was there when they started to train this art specifically for real fights, right from the source etc.
What does a 6'1'', 180lbs grappler/free fighter have to do with a 115lbs woman who's probably a blue belt when it comes to offensive grappling and wins fights against other 115lbs women mostly with punches ?
You realize that Serena Williams (physically) is easily your often discussed 'average man' and that a strawweight has the physique of a kid?
So you honestly think that the lowest ranked 115lbs women in this bum sport called WMMA would run through average sized males with ease and that's not even a discussion because UFC 1?

Serena is a bit too big for JoJed I think...

Lol. Are you seriously that stupid? You just go and assume Serena knows how to throw a punch and how to take punches on her face, knows how to grapple etc. What the fuck has happened to this place, everyone has lost their minds.

What 115lbs woman are you talking about? I dont think there are any SW fighters in the UFC who doesnt cut any weight, at least Joanna is not one of them. She weighs over 130lbs in her fights.

Of course they can. When you know jiu jitsu and know how to block punches. Sure a big ass muscular person might throw you around for a while and punch you so hard it hurts. But after a while they will tire. And because you know how to fight you are not going to be submitted, you have blocked most of the punches with your forearms. Then lets say it was JJ for example, eventually she will be able to either get a takedown or pull guard and submit them, or just light them up on the feet. 1 - 2 combo will knock out anyone when they are tired as fuck, no matter how big. Muscle and size accounts for something, but it is not the deciding factor. Having technique knowing how to actually fight is more important.

JJ would smash Serena Williams it wouldn't even be funny. We already know big muscles don't win fights. How many times have we seen that over and over again in mma. Royce Gracie proved it in UFC 1. People are giving these "A level" athletes way too much credit.

little ass Mighty Mouse could do that to any big ass NFL player. They are not gonna be able to catch him, and he will land a blow you don't see coming. The ones you don't see are the ones that knock you the fuck out! This is not Klitschko were talking about. The average human, athlete or not do not know how to fight.
