So, are we fans going to take a stand or what???

Hardcore fans of MMA, after all those mind games with who gets banned for life and who gets a slap on the wrist, are you still going to keep quiet about the issue of banned substance or what? I, as a real fan, I will not ever order any MMA until they show me the all tests results of Jon Jones, and why he got away with murder!

The whole reason of why I watch MMA is to see who is the toughest guy without cheating, but if I wanted to see a corrupt sport that doesn't care about who is cheating and just who is winning, then I will tune into something else. I hope you guys take a stand and stop ordering those big events until this issue is resolved.

NSAC are clueless, they showed that in the last two meetings where they had to be explained to about the most fundemental basics of doping. I can guarantee that every coach, trainer and fighter who is involved in doping knows 100x more than the Nevada State Athletic Commission do. NSAC are well intentioned, but they are largely clueless. They may have the "best in the business" if the business you refer to is MMA, but in relation to other bodies they are clueless which is why clowns like Conte and Damsgaard are pedalling their wares in MMA

Are you one of the koolaid drinkers who said Armstrong never tested positive?

Technically, on the samples provided, using the methods they used, Jones did not test positive for any substances banned in the environment he was in (ie. relevant to IC or OOC).

His figures however, did suggest highly abnormal testosterone ratios which at the very least demand further investigation.

Marion Jones never tested positive, Lance Armstrong never tested positive, Alex Rodriquez, never tested positive.

You can knock back the kool-aid all you like and take the view that Jones has not tested positive. This is true. Nobody is denying that.

However, his numbers are highly suspicious, and in other sports may well be enough to be treated as an "analytical" positive.

Yes, he did.

Ped = better performance

I am ok with it

I don't pay for anything anyways. I tried a bit with fightpass and stuff, but the UFC just dicks you around too much. It's much easier and more convenient to go with an illegal stream. Which really tells you something about Zuffa's ability to make content available.

In a word, yes.

In tennis about 80% of the anti doping is carried out by the governing body the ITF who just sweep their positives under their carpet

In Cycling about 60% of anti doping is carried out by the governing body the UCI who bury things under the carpet, but also saw in the biological passport. The rest of the testing is carried out by national anti doping agencies, USADA, AFLD etc

In all olympic sports, the testing is conducted by the national anti doping agency, USADA, CONI etc who work in partnership with the countries olympic committee.

In all of these sports the members of the anti doping bodies are experts in the field, with numerous experts who understand doping, with medical backgrounds, the state athletic commissions are best described as jack of all trades, master of none. They simple dont have the anti doping knowledge required

One thing they do have in common, ITF in Tennis, UCI in Cycling, State Athletic Commissions in MMA and Boxing is a lack of independance. There is a push in cycling to have anti doping moved away from the governing body and into totally independant Anti Doping. MMA anti doping will only be taken seriously when moved to a totally indepedant body (ie. USADA in the US, etc)

Do you happen to know what ratios the other sports you're talking about would consider a failure? Or can you direct me to somewhere that I could find that info? Not being a smartass, I'm genuinely curious. With all the Sonnen stuff there was so much discussion about elevated T:E ratios, but none about ratios being too low.

Thanks.

Which so far most of the people in this thread are not cognizant of, apparently.

As I understand it, some professionals have said his levels could occur normally and others have said they couldn't. I'm not a doctor, so what am I supposed to do with this information? He passed the CIR tests.

You're supposed to pick a side based on your personal opinion of Jones and act like anyone who disagrees is an anti-science, mouth-breathing, illogical, turd burglar. Duh.

Sure they do

Like Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier's T/E ratio was also low

What exactly do you have for Cormier and a similar irregular TE ratio or is jones dick in your eye that you cant see straight.

It appears that Jon Jones' opponent at UFC 182, Daniel Cormier, also had an irregular T/E ratio.

Good to see you back to proper form

People gave more shit about the "uniforms" than this.

This is tilting at windmills. The bigger part of people following the UFC and buying the PPVs are just the casual viewers, who don't give a heck about all the minutia let alone the T/E story.

My general practicioner is my cousin who is actually a specialist in endocrinology, and we had a good laugh when I asked her what could have been the causes of Jones's test results. But that's it really, he wasn't caught with the smoking gun, nothing is gonna happen, so live with it and move on. I actually find his behavior inside the cage and his unsportmanship a more compelling reason for which I have never been particularly fond of him as fighter, his private life is his own business as far as I am concerned.

This incident is a concern on many levels, namely, the recreational use of illegal narcotics that contributes to the criminal activity associated with distribution and territorial control which results in violence outside of the cage where innocent people get victimized.

I launched a CRACK BONES FB page as a wake up call to hold the UFC and Reebok accountable.

https://www.facebook.com/crackbonesapparel

The least they should do is suspend him for a few months and allocate the 'drop in the bucket' of $25000 to people who have been victimized by criminal activity associated with narcotics.

Their lack of action on this has been disgusting but the power resides with the apathetic public and always has, we just have not realized it yet.

TS' alternate account?

If the UFC were serious about PEDs, they would need to change things drastically. The reality is that they're a business, and as such they will act in the way that maximises profits. This means don't go after your cash cows.
