So are the bugs in Wasteland 3 on PS4 manageable?

I saw this on the PS Holiday sale, with all of the DLC/Expansions, for only $25 and are strongly considering picking it up.

Fallout meets X-Com? Sounds awesome.

The problem is, I'm looking at all the reviews for when it came out and they're all saying it was buggy and poorly optimized.... on PC. Its not exactly a game with the best graphics but it was pushing the powers of powerful graphics cards to avoid going below 30FPS in some situations.

And I'm going to be playing it on a PS4 Pro.

That was last year, but I'm wondering with the release of its DLC/Expansions may have improved its performance through updates.

Anyone play it on PS4 or PS4 Pro lately?

Or should I wait to get a XBX or PS5 and hope it'll be optimized for those consoles?

For what it’s worth it’s on Gamepass so you could wait for an XSX.

Yeah, but XBXs are still a bitch to get.

And I'm not a fan of subscription services.

Just asking about the PS4 version.

I played X-Com2 and although its been out for 5 years there's still tons of bugs on PS4, including the framerate going down to the single-digits when there's alot of enemies on screen.

Just wondering if Wasteland 3 is still that buggy.

Ok. But the last thing you asked was should you wait for an XSX or PS5 so I was just trying to weigh in on that question.

In terms of bugginess on PS4 I’d imagine it would be because I know @HereticBD played it on Xbox One and said it was buggy, and you said you heard pc was buggy, so it’s probably just all around a buggy game on all platforms would be my guess.

Yeah, at launch.

But its been 15 months, so that's why I'm making the thread to hear from anyone that's played it recently.

I laid this out in the OP.

Well according to r/wasteland it’s more stable these days but still buggy.

This is a thread on it from earlier in the year.

Edit: here’s a more recent thread on the issue from this week

I played it on PC. I never found any game breaking bugs. With that said, I don't consider crashes bugs though. It does happen once though. The game isn't as polished as xcom so some stuff like gameplay will seem sloppy

That's why I'm so hesitant. X-Com2 on PS4 Pro ran like shit, with low framerates and a game-breaking bug that prevented me from doing the final mission on my 2nd playthrough.

I got it for PC on xbox game pass($1.13 with a deal for 3 months) I loved the game. Was fun and I had no bugs or issues from my gameplay. Not the best graphics true, but the game is fun and the story is interesting.

I say give it a go.

I am a PC guy so xcom 2 ran very smoothly for me besides the occasional 90 percent aim then missing up close thing that makes me want to throw the game away. Wasteland 3 isn't bad. I thought it was a bit short vs Wasteland 2. The soundtrack kicks ass though

So i might as well give an update on this thread.

Against my better judgement I bought and downloaded Wasteland 3 on my PS4 Pro, and I've played through the tutorial...

...and...

...its been running perfectly...

...so far.

No bugs, no glitches, no crashes, no annoyingly long load times... all of which was in the PS4 version of X-Com2 which I feared would be common in all of these top-down strategy PC games ported over to consoles.
