so amateur boxers like Conor and Cody lowkey take over their divisions with additional mma training

Boxing and MMA striking are completely different. They're as comparable as Olympic sprinting and running on a basketball court. When you're striking in MMA, it's part of a larger game. You have to defend takedowns and deal with kicks etc. Do you think if McGregor stood there with a boxing stance, bobbing and weaving, he'd last 5 seconds? To go from boxing to MMA you have to completely deprogram yourself from what you've been taught since day one in the boxing gym.
not at all, both Conor and Cody and Stipe and even Mike Bisping heavily rely on their boxing background. More so than any other aspect of their training

not to mention the Diaz's

I think amateur boxing makes a better base than guys who are club level proboxers without decent ammy backgrounds.
Decent amateur boxers are better than club level pro boxers

They have better fundamentals, which is needed for MMA.

At one point in her MMA career, Ronda wanted to be an amateur boxer but couldnt make it

He did both around the same time, but his accomplishments in both sports are about equal to each other. as he was a state champion wrestler and an amateur boxing champ. He actually ditched wrestling to peruse boxing.

Then he ditched boxing to pursue MMA. Interesting. Holly Holm lost her next two fights after beating Rousey. Once to a wrestler. Name one boxer who could ever stuff a take down from Khabib.

Cody's wrestling base played a key role no doubt, looked solid.

But kickboxing? Nah, kickboxing is scrub tier. Conor's amateur boxing pedigree is what gets it done.

McGregor fights out of a fucking karate stance and kicks are a huge part of his game.

I guess Mayweather has a karate stance too?

And McGregor was doing the Mayweather shoulder roll against Eddie and Nate, and also shown doing it during MMA sparring.

Conor was openly criticized at his boxing gym for looking to expand his striking/fighting abilities in other areas within MMA. He never would have defeated Mendes without kicks.

WTF is that supposed to mean?

Floyd fights like this?

McGregor uses techniques from various disciplines, he's a fucking MMA fighter. The idea that he's a straight boxing import is absurd.

He only beat Mendez because Mendez had 2 weeks notice......

and we still doubting whether professional boxers can make the switch given enough financial incentives?

AYO
That's what's up!!!!
I have a higher amateur pedigree than Cody or Conor and do some no gi here and there for last two years......

2017, 209since1978 UFC LW CHAMP!!!!!!!!

Cody has a wrestling background and heavily trains in wrestling, without that he would struggle a lot with good grapplers (like most pro boxers likely would if they tried to jump right into MMA, and like Conor did when he first started in MMA).

Some Pro boxers could definitely transition to MMA if they put a bit of time into learning TDD and what not.

Cody started as a wrestler then got into boxing
Having a wrestling background is still the most popular for elite ufc fighters.

An equally ignorant counter argument would be that Mendes only looked competitive because Conor had two weeks notice.

Floyd fought like that against southpaws.

and Conor throws baby leg kicks. Nate ate them like he eats weed.

LEL?

Because Mendez was schooling him EVERYWHERE until he gassed......
