Okay, I'll entertain you. Your reference to a "Great White Hope" would imply that Till was an unworthy contender hand-picked for his race by the UFC as a marketing ploy to appease and draw (presumably white) fans into race theater. The problem with that is that Till came into the fight with a 17-0 record, and before this loss:

• Fight Matrix mathematical ELO ranking put him at #3 behind Woodley and Colby at WW.
  
• UFC Official Rankings has him as the #2 contender behind Colby.
  
• Sherdog had him at #7 behind Woodley, Colby, RDA (just lost), Lawler (injured), Rory (Bellator), and Lima (Bellator)
  
• USA Today had him at #4 behind Woodley, Colby, and Rory (Bellator)

There was no better matchup. They made this matchup because it preserved the integrity of the sport, not to stage a "Great White Hope" longshot prospect.

So maybe put down the malt liquor, and start considering the implications of the dumb stuff you say before you say it. You are projecting. Get control of yourself.

He got his ass kicked by Rory. And then he had boring fights against specialist fighters that NOBODY looks good fighting. Jake Shields isn't an exciting fighter. What great fights of his do you remember?
Damian Maia---excellent grappler/jiu jitsu, but he isn't going to be in an exciting fight with a guy like Tyron.
Karate point fighter Wonder Boy? You can either play his game, and get kicked in the face, or you can be smart, patient, and pick your spots like Tyron did.

My point is, is that those people on Sherdog, and elsewhere are straight up wrong about Woodley's record. I just listed it out for you.
He has 23 total fights, and only 10 of them went to decision--the rest are finishes.
Championship fights are different from 3 round fights. He had 3 boring championship fights back to back, but people call him a "boring fighter" without looking at the circumstances surrounding the fights.
Styles make fights. Championship fights are different. Some pairings of fighters will just not make for good fights.

2 of the fights that Tyron gets criticized for are the 2 back to back fights against Wonder Boy. Did we all forget that Wonder Boy had boring ass fights with Rory and Till? Those were 2 fights that everyone expected some crazy karate shit, and got nothing. I can't recall the Masivdal vs WB fight..but i dont' remember that one being exciting either. And yet, all the blame for the Tyron vs WB fight is on Tyron for some reason.

You can not like a guy for being fake, or other personal issues,I get that. But when we're talking about fighting, there is actual video and proof of what did, and didn't happen.

And I wasn't defending Jack, I don't even think I've ever had any interactions with him here on Sherdog. I was defending Tyron, because he always gets shit on. I didn't read Jack's post.
But if you post in the Heavies, then what Jack is saying isn't really far off. Tyron has A LOT of haters, and one of the first things they ALWAYS bring up is that Tyron is a "race baiter", even though none of these people could tell me what he actually said, and when's the last time he actually "race baited".
