This asshole doesn't even talk?

Can anyone say comedy sidekick? Rob Schneider could probably use the work

Yeah, or they could make a movie with a ninja who does talk and does show his face.

Wait, then I guess they couldn't shamelessly milk the GI Joe fanbase...

But g.i joe aint g.i joe with out g.i joe.

Something about the movies fell way off in comparison to the retro 80s g.i joe

Snake Eyes can't talk. He was disfigured and made mute when he was on patrol with Stalker and Tommy Arishikage (Storm Shadow) in Vietnam. That's why he wears the mask.

He would love to talk, he just can't anymore.

Got my attention with "special relationship with Scarlett". NC-17 please. Thanks.

If modern medicine can grow an ear on a forearm, surely they can fix his talking ability?

They can always give him the Kane treatment. :)

This will probably suck shit.

Anyone remotely interested in this character should just track down & enjoy the ‘silent issue’ of G.I. Joe, which has no dialogue. All Snake Eyes. It’s amazing.

G.I. Joe's SNAKE EYES Gets a Solo Movie with Evan Spiliotopoulos to Pen Script

Popular G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes is getting his own movie. Paramount Pictures has thrown a Joe spinoff movie featuring the commando into development, with Evan Spiliotopoulos, the writer of Beauty and the Beast and The Huntsman: Winter’s War, in talks to pen the script.

Snake Eyes is the silent ninja commando that first appeared in the 1980s as part of Hasbro and Marvel Comics’ relaunch of the toyline, dubbed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.

The character, who dressed in all black, never revealed his face, and never spoke, stood apart from the rest of the military anti-terrorist group and quickly established himself as the most popular. He had a special relationship with Scarlett, for a while the team’s only female member, and sometimes carried out solo missions with his pet wolf, Timber. His archenemy is Storm Shadow, a ninja who is also his blood brother.

Paramount has made two Joe movies, 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and 2013’s G.I Joe: Retaliation, with acrobatic actor Ray Park playing the lead character in both movies.

The studio and Hasbro have been looking to reboot the franchise and in the last few years has assembled writers rooms to generate movie ideas.

Spiliotopoulos got his start in animation, working on Disney’s straight to animation movies before nabbing big-feature fantasy gigs. The writer is on an upswing and earlier this week came on board to pen the sequel to Netflix’s fantasy cop movie, Bright.

I hope it's better than the other two GI Joe films. Those were pitiful.

One of Larry Hama’s best. No surprise that an actual Vietnam vet was the best GI Joe writer...

and tied with Chris Claremont as the best Wolverine writer.

But yeah, this movie will probably suck ass.

They should make it R rated like Deadpool but dark and violent. Of course they won't though

Those were the best parts from the first 2 movies so why not.

What if the movie is based on that issue? Seems like they could make it pretty cool. A silent action movie would be a cool gimmick.

Wall-E doesn't really talk but that movie was great.

A Quiet Place + Ninja + An Established Franchise = I’m Interested

I’m also the only person I know that actually collected the GI Joe comics, so I’ve been a huge mark for most of my life.

The toys were called Action Force over here. Pretty generic, but it did tie in with Action Man.

Crazy Rich Asians Breakout Henry Golding to Star in G.I. Joe Spinoff SNAKE EYES

Paramount has found its ninja warrior. Crazy Rich Asians breakout Henry Golding is in negotiations to star in Snake Eyes, a G.I. Joe spinoff centered on the popular commando from Paramount in partnership with Skydance, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Robert Schwentke, who helmed two installments of the Divergentfranchise, is directing the action project that has Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner among the producers.

Snake Eyes is the ninja commando that first appeared in the 1980s as part of Hasbro and Marvel Comics’ relaunch of the toyline, dubbed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.

The character, who dressed in all black, never revealed his face and never spoke, stood out among the military anti-terrorist group and quickly established himself as the most popular. He sometimes carried out solo missions with his pet wolf, Timber while his archenemy is Storm Shadow, a ninja who is also his blood brother.

Paramount has made two G.I. Joe movies — 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and 2013’s G.I Joe: Retaliation — with acrobatic actor Ray Park playing Snake Eyes in both.

Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the script for the solo installment, which is said to center on Snake Eyes seeking revenge for his father’s death by joining ninja clan, in process finding acceptance.

Golding made his feature debut portraying rich boy Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians, which opened just one year ago. In that short time, he parlayed that into leading roles in romantic comedy Last Christmas, with Emilia Clarke and Emma Thompson, and Guy Ritchie’s crime thriller The Gentlemen, which stars Matthew McConaughey. He also launched his own production company, Long House Productions.

With his trajectory moving as fast as an arcing shuriken, Golding's nabbing of Snake Eyes marks the actor’s first starring role in a studio feature, a franchise one at that.

A silent protagonist or am i misremembering him having no lines?

why isn't Scott Adkins playing him?

there's no lines, so brit accent isn't a factor.....neither is appearance as he's under a mask
