Fighters like , Machida,Shogun , Benson, Maia, Jds, Vitor, Rashad more.

Earn more trough sponsorship, make another run for the title and beating some cans and fun fights, plus fighting in free t.v.

View it as a final glimpse of a Supernova before vanishing into obscurity

I'd hardly call Benson anywhere past his prime, TS.

Other than that, I agree that it could be lucrative for many of those names to jump ship to Bellator. Especially due to that rotten Reebok deal, they could make even more money by being able to have their own sponsors again, inside the cage.

Here's the problem. Most guys have fights left on their contract and the UFC pushes to negotiate a new contract when they have one fight left. If they refuse to resign then the ufc tends to shelf them for a while or give them a really bad match up.

Not as easy to jump ship as you'd think

Lol Benson does not belong on that list.

He can still beat top 5 LWs or WWs.

its kind of a win win, if b-tor gets them they get more name recognition (belly that is) and the fading star gets a chance to start a rebirth and give a whoopin to some other fading stars. Then UFC must re-negotiate the contract at a higher price.

I can't really get past the part where they would be making more in Bellator. I know it's a popular narrative right now because of the whole Reebok furor, but come on, you just named some of the highest paid fighters in the UFC, lol.

JDS and Benson are 31 years old, and are still fighting well. Hardly "past their prime" by any stretch.
