Currently some of my new favorite things..Mountain goats (ya gotta love lyrics, depressing lyrics on this one, if you love a pretty voice this ain't for You) @mozfonky @Pittie Petey did Y'all ever try the moutain goats?

Tequila Hot sauce works really well on nacho's, and has a unique flavor not just your same old hot sauce

the japanese BBQ works pretty well on anything else, especially dumplings, but I've used it on meat, fish, veggies, squirted it right in my mouth, etc.

3 really good non-Marvel comics.....two silly ones from Patton Oswalds "Minor Threats" world and one surprisingly good one from Skottie Young who's baby marvel art I usually don't like but this western horror thing was pretty damn good and has grown up art and everything,,,,
@koquerelle you should def give it a read

So what are some of your current favorite things?

Who is my favorite child you ask?

Matthew 25:21 on this one is very powerful if you've ever dealt with terminal illness for one you love

as is Isaiah 45:23

Damn these vampires- good one about drug addiction

Beat the Champ is an entire album about old school pro wrestling...If you like Dark Side of the Ring it is in your wheel house

You were cool If you ever wished you'd told someone in high school that you liked them even if they weren't popular

No Children is a great breakup song

The best death metal band out of denton if you've had people not believe in your aspirations

etc...

oh ya, I did listen to that one about the band in denton, forget if it was you who recommened them or someone else. It was ok, nothing mindshaking for me.

Story wise, the denton song hit me close to home though, my parents took me to a shrink when I told them I wanted to be a musician. They did everything in their power to stop me, and they probably should have, it's ruined my life.

I like the concept of this thread.

Really like the melding of brutal riffs and vocals with melody and a beautiful chorus at the end.

Really Dug this show on Netflix:

I am carb cutting but I'm a chip guy. These are high protein low carb that actually taste good and tons of flavors:

I also like working out and after years of avoiding them because of easier choices, I added Pull ups to my back workouts. Had to start with 2 reps so I used them in between sets of other things. Now I am up to 5 sets of 8-10 reps. Hits back, arms, core....I love them.

@lsa sang that song at European Idol

your second paragraph is exactly why I love this fucking band. He takes shit we've all been through, distills it down to a few simple stanzas, and knocks you on your ass with how you can connect to what he is saying.

His voice kinda bad, they music nothing special, the lyrics/stories/ability for me to relate, off the fucking charts.

You lived the best ever death metal band in denton song in real life....

"This was how Cyrus got sent to the school
Where they told him he'd never be famous
And this was why Jeff, in the letters he'd write to his friend
Helped develop a plan to get even

When you punish a person for dreaming his dream
Don't expect him to thank or forgive you"

You were fucking Cyrus and that is mind blowing to me but evidently not "mindshaking" to you.

That is understandable if you are looking at the song structure and chords and arrangement as a musician but as a person, in my humble opinion, you should go "holy fuck I lived this"

Hail Satan!

Oh and your supposed to list some new shit you do like, food, beer, something you bought, read, etc don't forget that part

i absolutely did! I almost ended up in the loony bin just for wanting to be a musician.

For me, usually, great, dynamite lyrics don't get me on their own. Some of Bruce's have but he's one of the few, I love his darkness album even though musically, a tune like Darkness on the edge of town is more visceral than musical, that delivery changed my life permanently.

I dunno, maybe it's the delivery. The lyrics are my story for sure and I learned early just how unfriendly the real world really was and is, that part was good. Even though, people to this day call me paranoid, they've all earned it many times over.

and yes, i've been hated for having a dream, not a reality, just the dream, hated, it's old hat to me by now. I've lost friends, I've had musical teachers who hated it when I did happen to shine too bright, just the way folks are. They'll turn on you or me in a heartbeat. "Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more." as the good book says.
