As someone who speaks both Portuguese and German gendered nouns are a fucking pain in the ass, they're not really necessary from a functional perspective.

That being said, fuck anyone who wants to change a language for some po dunk reason like this. Whole point about languages changing is that they evolve naturally and fluidly not because some dumb ass college student decided they should change.
