Yeah undermining the family unit comes from many angles, but the Marxist origins of the SJW camp makes it likely that it will come up eventually in their rhetoric (abolition of the family is a strain of Marxist thought)

BLM (astroturf Marxist offshoot) for example actually does call for this on their web site, so there are some signs that we'll see it more overtly rather than obfuscated.

Just from my life, but I've had plenty of ladies tell me face-to-face that kids don't necessarily need fathers. Sometimes it's implied, sometimes I'm told straight up. It's a pretty laughable implication. Ok, the kid will survive without a dad, great. Will they become a desperate slut or a violent dickhead? Also yes.

I wouldn't call it a full fledged war, but it's part of the official package you get in the mail when you go SJW. When I am in these discussions, it strikes me as a motherhood pride type of thing, moms are awesome and who needs dads "machismo" (poor word choice?) or some shit. Fathers optional. It's stupid, you'll never hear me say that kids don't need mothers...

If SJW-Land someday has a spare Battalion they need to keep busy, it'll become a war soon enough.
